Product Description

Color: Pink

The pStyle is a device that allows women and trans men to pee standing up without undressing. It is a simple design that works exceptionally well. Because it is made of rigid plastic, the pStyle is easily maneuvered through clothing. The unique funnel shape of the pStyle directs the flow away from the body. The rounded back edge can be used to wipe, so there are no drips! It is easy to clean by shaking vigorously or rinsing.

I have a bladder disease: Interstitial Cystitis, therefore I need to urinate a lot, (ie on dog walks in my neighborhood, at the beach, during car rides, you name it). Squatting in public is just not an option anymore. Here are my needs: Discretion is key, comfort, usability and performance are also top priorities. I ordered "Go Girl", "Shewee", "Wiz Freedom" & “pStyle”. I tried them all right out of the box, without a “shower trial”. Initially I used my own home bathroom, standing over the toilet with my pants only as far down as discretion would allow. I also tried them with jeans, bicycle shorts and yoga pants. Here are my results:

A) Shewee- When I used this product I had urine on my clothing. I tried using it 3 times with the same results. It’s very bulky and therefore not discrete, The clear tube must be used because the green funnel isn’t long enough to exit the urine safely away from the body. It is made of hard plastic, so it will not collapse during use but still needs 2 hands because it’s so long and narrow you need to hold both ends. It comes with it’s own caring case, which is a plus. The part of the funnel you hold next to your body is extremely narrow, the funnel itself is so narrow if one was to release a large volume, quickly, I think it would overflow. You also need to wipe afterward because if you try to wipe yourself with it, it’s just to narrow, plus now you have 2 plastic pieces that are also wet (besides yourself and your clothing). This devise is generally hard to use, indiscrete (dark green…really?) and bulky both to carry and use. I would give the Shewee a rating of 1 star. I expected more from REI.

B) Wiz Freedom- Out of the package, first try worked fine.

Ok, so yes - every girl on the planet who grew up "outdoors-y" has learned to take a pee standing up and *without* a gimmick like this by now. But let's face it: Going it alone still requires contorting your posture in crazy ways, putting possibly-unsanitary fingers dangerously near orifices, dropping your pants halfway, a wad of toilet tissue, and is next to impossible to accomplish cleanly if you don't have a good full bladder at the start.

With this thing, none of that applies. Stand up straight, unbutton your fly, negotiate around whatever undergarments you may favor, and relax and let nature take over. It's hard(ish) plastic, unlike some competitors, so it doesn't collapse when trying to shove it in place. It's considerably more comfy than the automotive funnels of yesteryear. It's long enough (20cm or about 7.75 inches) from top rear edge to bottom front edge to go down through quite a bit of gear. It's easy to clean: just shake it good and hard. A caveat there, though: I've never once in my life experienced any of the crazy infections that other women seem to get like clockwork, so if you're one of those sort, I assume you'll want to wash/disinfect after every use. It has a channel rather than a tube, so it's not realistically possible to overflow the thing. It surprisingly makes good on the claim of making toilet tissue unneeded (via a scraping motion when you're through) - I had expected residual dampness, but was happy to be proven wrong.

I went camping out in the rough with my husband, in July. It was a challenge to pee without getting my trousers wet somewhere, even with my husband helping me with balancing while I tried squatting. Once I got home, I said to myself, there has got to be a better way. I looked at several varieties of urination devices. This one I liked because of the choices in colors, the simple molding and easy portability. I sent for one. When it came, I tried it after reading the directions. The directions were easy to follow. I did discover you do need to feel that the back edge is up against the front of your perineum, the area between the anus and vagina, not just the back of the vagina or you may leak past the opening between the device and the vagina. Other than than that detail of making sure you are covering your vaginal area completely, it works perfectly. I am going camping again soon, and look forward to using it well. I love this device. It is inexpensive, works perfectly, and fits well in a jeans pocket. I carry it wrapped in a kerchief. My husband is laughing because he thinks it is funny that I can pee like he can, standing up. I smile and say, "I love this, my clothes stay dry, and it is fun!" My husband and I are tickled pink with this urination device. It is comfortable and easy to use. Easy to keep clean, and transport, and fun!

The pStyle is one of the most awesome things I have ever purchased. I haven't used it while camping yet (next weekend will be the real trial), but I've been using it in my own bathroom successfully. When I tried it for the first time, I was butt-nekkid in the shower. I turned off the head and let the water come out of the lower faucet instead. I wanted to know if there was splash back and how much. It would be hard to tell if I let the water run over my head. So I put the pStyle where it belongs and let her rip. The pee stream arced out from my body by about a foot, missing my toes. There was a little splash back on my shins, but that's because the tub is totally flat. I imagine that if I were peeing into a bush that wouldn't happen. When I emptied my bladder and it was down to a trickle, it still didn't dribble onto me. I did some Keagles, made sure I got as much out as I could and scraped like the instructions say. It was expecting it to scratch or hurt, but it didn't at all. The sides are not sharp. I wiped with a tissue to see how much moisture was left. There wasn't much, so this device really does eliminate the need to wipe if you don't want to. When I got camping next week, I'll probably wear a panty liner, just to make sure.
This is made of smooth, hard plastic so even if you squeeze hard, it won't collapse and cause spillage. There are no creases or anything weird to cause the pee to get trapped, the plastic isn't porous. It's exceptionally easy to clean and relatively small. Half the width of my hand and about 1 inch longer. No matter how much pee you are releasing, it won't overflow. This was very important to me.
I've used the pStyle a few times since then, aiming for the toilet bowl and keeping my clothing on. No pee dribbles anywhere. A+, 5 Stars. This thing is awesome. I recommend it highly.
