Tylan powder has been very helpful in relieving the imflamation of my dog's intestinal tract. He has imflamatory bowel disease, and I have tried other medications. The tylan powder from my vet cost twice as much as I paid from the Amazon source, so I appreciate a more economical solution to my dog's problem.

Excellent treatment for mild colitis in dogs. Intermittent diarrhea alternating with constipation resolves completely. 1/8 tsp daily with dog's food.

This isn't a product I recommend you giving your animal (s) without vet supervision, but it cost 3 times more buying it in the office than online. This stuff works miracles!!!!

This is the greatest product for loose dog stool ever invented after 4 vets 10 different dog foods and making homemade w rice 3 years, My dog who was returned 3 times to a shelter for chronic diarrhia now has a perfect stool!!!:))))But U have to call ur vet to get proper dosage and follow instructions than eventually wean off product..

I ordered the two pack, and a couple of days later got a message that it wouldn't come. Had to order just a single container from somewhere else.

Good price on Tylan powder for those of you that have dogs with SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth). My 100# dog gets 1/4 tsp twice daily with his food and that keeps his SIBO in check. I keep what I'm not using refrigerated to prolong its shelf life. It is cheaper to purchase the 2 pack versus one at a time and the powder does have a good shelf life...especially if refrigerated.
The merchandise has always arrived promptly and undamaged. Been using this product for 6 years and price has remained fairly constant.
Tylan powder has a bitter taste so if you have a pooch that won't accept it in his food, it can always be put in those little empty capsules that you can fill. Purchase from health food store or Amazon.

Our vet recommended this for our 13" beagle, who is a champion show dog but has had problems with irritable bowel syndrome since her puppy days. Before using this regularly she would either have no appetite, or when she did eat would expel the food almost immediately as diarrhea. She was getting thin enough to be life-threatening.

We give about 1/16 of a teaspoon twice a day, mixed with a dollop of cottage cheese, as part of her regular feeding. Once we began using this her symptoms cleared up, her appetite came back (remember, this is a beagle!), and her intestinal problems seem to be completely under control.

Each canister will last quite a long time at this dosage. Our vet told us that the amount is "empirical," meaning that there are no clinical studies or anything to confirm what it should be. Indeed, this is an "off label" use of the product, which is designed for poultry. But it is extremely common, and vet-recommended.

As others have written, it would not be appropriate to use this without a vet's supervision. But I can certainly endorse it based on our own experience.
