2.0 out of 5 stars Tippmann 98 Custom Kit, June 9, 2008
The gun works well but the remote sucks. You cannot use the quick disconnect on the remote because the o-ring swells up and pops out. It is a pain to put back. I waited for it to heat up after use (6 hours later) it still popped out The "anti-fog" mask, well lets just say it's not so anti-fog. I have played 4 times and my harness/pod holder broke. One of the pod sleeves came unsewn.

1.0 out of 5 stars A complete rip-off, April 9, 2006
This review is from: paintball Tippmann 98 Sniper Set (Misc.)
I don't own this item, but I can tell you as an experienced paintballer that this package is not worth your money:

1st, the flatline barrel does not live up to all of its marketing hype. I have heard both sides of the story and have concluded that it can be a good barrel IF you take the time to "sight it in". Assuming that you have done that, it only gives you a lot more distance, but does not give you accuracy and distance. I am not sure just how accurate the flatline is (because I don't own it), but I can tell you that a Stiffi barrel for the same $100 would buy you a much better barrel.

2nd, the remote is just a standard remote that you can buy for $30. (If you get an expansion chamber and/or an air-through stock you can get a remote with a slidecheck, for de-pressurizing your gun while keeping the remote pressurized.)

3rd, the stock isn't all that great it my opinion, since you can get a much sturdier stock for the same price ($55) or a little more.

For you guys that got an F in math, that comes to a total of $185!!, if you buy the components of this package separately. $185 vs. $300... mmmmmm i wonder which one to pick. Do yourself (and your checkbook) a favor and don't buy these upgrades in this package; get a Stiffi barrel, a remote with a slidecheck, and an air-through stock for $230 and have a better setup that is still cheaper than this package.
