This review is from: 12 pc. Flat Diamond File Set (Misc.)
Set consists of 4 flat profile widths of 3 grits 180, 260, 360. The handels are dipped rubber coating.
If you are looking for an inexpensive set of diamond flat files for crafting, hobby and light occasional use this set is great. The files are flat on one side and have a slight pointed taper on the other side. I used 2 of these files to debur aproximatly 60 nails for pinewood derby axles at a seminar that I held. The files showed no sign of wear. Better performing than I thought they would be when I first opened the package.

Its certainly not an expensive product, but better quality than they might have been for the price.
So far they have been used for filing/smoothing of soft metal with no trouble at all, with no apparent wear yet. I don't expect them to last a long, long time (I would have got a more expensive set if I had) but they're doing a fine job so far. The small handles can give a little cramp to bigger hands when used for longer periods, but that's not surprising.

This set of small diamond coated files seems to me to be a very good deal. They are of generic Chinese manufacture so you take a chance on quality and longevity. But at this price, to get 12 files,(3 sets of 4 with 3 different grits), who cares, you can just by another set. The files are all abount 7 inches long including a soft plastic dipped handle and roughly 2 inched of diamopnd coated file surface. I have used the files on some soft metal, revemoving mold remnants from plastic castings and my finger nails. In no case did the files show signs of wear. I would have rated them 5 stars but I have no long-term experience with them. While their construction quality is not the best, maybe it is as good as it needs to be because the files serve their purpose. I would recommend a set of these files for use in any home to take care of unwanted sharp points on kitchen or workshop tools or other items that just need a smoothing. They coold also be useful in sharping small knifes if you are careful to maintain the proper sharpening angle. I think they would wear out quickly in trying to bring an average or large size knife from a dull state to a very sharp state. But, these really are not for the purpose of sharpening knives. A large diamond coated shapening steel would be much better for that purpose. I doubt that you can lose buying a set of these files.
