My in-laws are Canadian, and before my first child was born, my MIL bought me a tin of this cream and promised I would love it. She is right. This cream is amazing. I've given it to other friends whose children had HORRIFIC diaper rashes that nothing else would touch, and Penaten cream cleared it right up.

It works on any sort of rash, even on older children and adults. This is one item I can't live without.

This cream is excellent for older childrens rashes as well as diaper rash. My 6 year old son had a rash all over his thighs from the chlorine in the pool and this was the only thing he would let me put on it. His rash was completely better within 2 days.

I discovered Penaten because my wife is Canadian and it is very commonly used in her country. Having suffered with eczema and dermatitis my whole life, this is the one product (other than prescription strength hydrocortisone) that actually helps heal the rashes that pop-up on contact points on my body. It's also great for general healing of dry skin, and a host of other dermal maladies. Awesome, awesome stuff, with the only drawback being the white pasty residue it can leave on clothes.

Penaten is an opaque white cream that comes in a resealable blue tin. Its odor is practically neutral. It's fragrance-free, so you can expect it to smell only of its ingredients.

I've grown up with this particular cream, and have introduced it to many others.

As an infant, my parents used it on the occasional diaper rash to amazing effect. A little goes a long way. You're unlikely to get through the whole tin while your child is still in diapers.

As a young child who started to learn to clean himself, I found myself getting rashes while I fumbled with this basic skill. Penaten came to my rescue again, clearing up issues like this in only a couple of days.

As an adult, I've got a few extra pounds. Usually I don't have a problem, but I got a heat rash rather suddenly in an uncomfortable place. Another friend of mine had been complaining of a rash on the underside of his belly, so I ordered 2 tins of Penaten and gave one to him. Both rashes cleared up in no more than 3 days.

Additionally, I've known adults with incontinence issues who have developed rashes. I've recommended Penaten to each of them, and I've been praised for 'rescuing' them from their misery.

If I ever manage to run out I'll buy another tin.

I have a 8 month old German Shepard who had chapped lips. This cream was recommended on a German Shepard blog. I was skeptical but I figured it was worth a shot before the visit to the vet. She did not try and lick it off, it stayed on for hours and did the trick to heal her chapped lips. Just needed to be diligent with a week of applications 2-3x a day. Thanks! my baby was experiencing an endless, annoying diaper rash, and we were experimenting with a variety of creams (zinc-oxide based, petroleum and natural oil based creams, etc). i am a big fan of German products in general and was psyched to find this on amazon with such positive reviews; i ordered a couple of tins and started using it liberally. the first night, it did seem to soothe the rash, but after that, each application worsened my son's condition, until his entire backside erupted into one angry red blister that really extended everywhere the cream had been spread (also to parts of his legs where there had been no rash originally). we discontinued using the cream after a couple of days of my son's increased misery, and switched back to alveeno, alternating with angel bottom balm (which is what we use on normal days). while the whole diaper rash did not disappear immediately, the thick red blister (literally, the skin was raised) did heal almost as soon as we stopped using the cream. my son could potentially be allergic to something in the cream; there are a lot of (i would say superfluous) ingredients so that isn't impossible. as a substance it is also pretty nasty, it smells very strongly of perfume and is uncannily both like a thick zinc oxide paste and slippery like an oil, so that it both sticks to everything and is greasy (if that makes sense). In conclusion, even if your little one didn't react as poorly to one or more of the ingredients, it did not appear to me as a sensible choice for day-time diaper changes: after a 12 hour night diaper it mostly rubbed away, but after a 2 hour diaper, the cream refused to wash off. as we were just using water and washcloths because of the rash, it was nearly impossible to remove the cream and thereby thoroughly dry the diaper area between changes without really scrubbing, and this of course made the irritation much worse. i'm very sorry this didn't work out, i was looking for a miracle product, and now i have three tins of this stuff. sigh

Penaten Cream 150 ml )I started using the cream 30+ years ago when my first child had diaper rash that NOTHING would stop. Penaten did the trick and I used nothing else on the remaining 4 babies over the years. It REALLY works.

My sister got this for me when my kids were babies. I loved it! the only problem I see with it and any other diaper rash creme is its a little difficult to remove. But for the most part the body should absorb the majority of it anyways.

What I love most about it is when I have other children in my care and there bottoms are bleeding, I feel very safe puting this on the child for the night knowing that when they go home the next day there bottoms will almost be completly healed. My boys love it as well when there is some rash down there they let me apply this stuff cause it doesn't sting its cool and eventually numbs the sore. It has a numbing agent in it that helps with with the rash. My kids are not afraid of it or me applying it. I would recomend this for anyone and put it in every babyshower gift basket. Its a must have for every parents expecting the unexpected.

My grandmother was from Germany and she swore by this cream. I used it on both of my kids for diaper rash, and every time, no matter how bad the rash was, it was cleared up completely by the next day. I am due to have my third daughter in 4 weeks, and I'm buying another tin of this. Nothing else compares! Buy this first if you have a child with diaper rash...you'll find out that you won't need anything else. Awesome product!

I AM A NANNY AND I HAVE USE A LOT OF DIAPER CREMES BUT PENATEN IS THE BEST! ONCE, ONE OF MY CARE HAD TERRIBLE DIAPER WASH I APPLIED PENATEN AND IT WAS LIKE HE DIDNT HAVE ANY DIAPER RASH BY THE NEXT DAY!!! ITS LIKE MAGIC! DESITIN AND BALMEX SUCK!
