(1,200)"works great" - By C. Kennedy
This sharpener is very well constructed and sharpens a nice point,it also has a good feel to it.I think it will last. I bought this to replace several sorry electric and manual pencil sharpeners around the house. There are alot of poorly designed products out there. You would think it ain't rocket science. Most of them do not work well out of the box. -

Price: $23.75 (25)"amazing feat of modern engineering" - By Mark W. King (Charlotte NC)
This pencil sharpener is the greatest high tech-low tech pencil sharpener I have ever seen. It holds the pencil in place, gradually moves the pencil into the sharpening blades and stops automatically when the pencil is insanely sharp--and it does it all mechanically by the power of hand crank. What else can I say? -

Wow. So many negative reviews here about broken pencil lead. Ladies and gentlemen, if you are sharpening your #2 frequently, that is the problem. A sharp point on a #2HB will break every time. The #2 is not supposed to be sharp. If you want a sharp point in order to get that thin, "skinny little facts and figures scrawl" (Cactus Tree by Joni Mitchell), use the #3. The #2 should be worn down to the wood before it is slightly re-sharpened to a new rounded point. The #2 is for creative writing. With a properly worn down point, it produces a broad, bold line. Intuitive, thoughtful, subjective thinking requires unrestricted bold strokes over a limitless white surface. If you are the analytical type, your objectivity requires lined paper and the clear, thin, legible line of the #3. I always work out new ideas with a pencil and plain paper. ... full review -

First of all, the guy above who was dissatified, you can't use a reg. pencil sharpener to sharpen Prisma's, becuase what happened to you, will happen. Prismacolor pencils come w/ a special sharpener just for these pencils. Inside the box it explains why you can't use a reg. sharpener on these pencils.
As for my review, I draw tattoos. Every tattoo artist i've ever talked too all use Prismacolor Pencils, and all have rave reviews... I didn't believe them until 1 of the tattoo artists let me try out his set. After i tried his out for a few hours (cuase i was that happy w/ them), i had to have my own set. Once i went Prismacolor, i never went back to the crappy crayolas i was using before. Crayola differs from Prisma becuase most pencils in your store are chalk-based, while prisma's are oil based... They blend ... full review -
(33)"Great product" - By Scott J. Taylor (Brandon, MI United States)
If you like to carry a real wooden pencil this is the "tool" for you. Protects the point, built in sharpener and a pocket clip. The Faber-Castel pencil it comes with is very nice but it also firts your old standby #2 if you want.
It came from Germany and shipping was $4.00 but made it in about ten days and in perfect condition. The only problem was the e-mail shipping notification from the seller was in German.... -
- In stock. Usually ships within 4 to 5 days.

Very awesome lead holder! It comes with a sharpener and pencil, that's it. The lead holder is all metal interior as far as I can tell and wood exterior. It's got a nice weight to it and works perfectly fine for my needs. The sharpener doesn't sharpen to a super fine point, so you might need to sharpen it a bit more often than you want.
I've seen one person complain about the metal button on the opposite side rattling, which it does. But it doesn't bother me at all. I mean I honestly don't even notice it when I draw. Other than that its a really cool holder that holds out well and is durable. -

There is so much good to say I don't know where to start. Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils are definately worth the price. These are not your ole Crayola watercolor pencils for the kids. What intrigues me is how much this medium of watercolor pencils calls out to your own style and drawing out your own creativity. You can draw as pencil and then paint over with water, dip in water like a rad marker, or make little pools on a pallette and mix in, just to start with a few methods. The colors on these are incredible.
My favorite method thus far is to ink my basic shapes as you would in cartoon drawing. Then come back to fill in areas with the pencils dry. Then to lightly transform the dry color with water on a small brush. There is so ... full review -

this is a out of pencil sharpener so you have to extend the lead far enough to sharpen completely which I like it's easy and you can see war your doing. It also has a storage for the shavings which id great and makes it very clean. It put a very needle sharp point which is unusual for these leads and takes some getting used to and some shaping but once the difference is figured out I like the angle and sharpening frequency is reduced. Overall a great and useful 2mm sharpener and if I lost it I would definitely replace it by drawing set would be incomplete now without it. -

solid high quality german made pencils with quality graphite.
one thing to note about these pencils:
the 7b and 8b are not really graphite, they are a carbon based blend that causes the pencil to grip the paper and make more noise.
This also means they are very dark and not shiny like graphite. They are far darker than any graphite pencil.
the remaining four harder pencils are a more typical graphite pencil, and also are very dark and very smooth. Derwent graphic 9b is lighter in shade the staedlter lumograph 6b. As an added bonus, the difference in darkness between the 6b, 4b,2b, and hb is basically nothing, despite the lead being harder.
