This review is from: Beaux Arts Trio performs Turina Trios 1 + 2, Circlo op 91; Grandos Trio op 50 (Philips) (Audio CD)
Graduate of the University of Michigan (1971), surprisingly I have never returned to the US since

hence, I was glad to receive this parcel from Philadelphia, short after Xmas...

in Avignon, south of France, world capital of theater, where I lived for ten years, the marvelous Beaux-Arts Trio came to visit us and play several times in the eighties (Beethoven - integral in 3 evenings, Dvorak, Mendelssohn, Brahms, etc)

and I had the pleasure to meet Isidore Cohen (violin at the time), Bernard Greenhouse (cello), and of course one of the three historical founders, namely Menahem Pressler (pianist), still active, who recruted outstanding new partners since.

Concerning Turina and Granados trios, I was very happy to discover all together the existence of such compositions for trio in the spanish school of Debussy's and Ravel's time, which I had totally zapped so far, and the beautiful interpretation of the B-A Trio

I then thoroughly recommand this repertoire and this album
