5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product
This is a great product. I was searching all over for a sea salt scrub that isn't oily and this one is the best. It heats and really exfoilates your body. Since it is sea salt, and there is always going to be a bit of residue on the skin, I always follow my exfoliation w/ body wash (philosophy has great flavors), and then finish w/ some lotion (my pick is Benefit-Bathina:...

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
I love the other Philosophy products I've tried, and this received high reviews, so I was very excited. But it is just okay. The product is certainly of high enough quality, but I find the scent a little underwhelming and dull and, to be honest, the color completely turns me off. I haven't used it nearly as often as I thought I would, so I don't think I will buy it...

This is a great product. I was searching all over for a sea salt scrub that isn't oily and this one is the best. It heats and really exfoilates your body. Since it is sea salt, and there is always going to be a bit of residue on the skin, I always follow my exfoliation w/ body wash (philosophy has great flavors), and then finish w/ some lotion (my pick is Benefit-Bathina: "touch me and try to leave cream"). My skin has never been so soft and I always smell so great...
p.s. I only exfoliate once a week, any more than that makes my skin dry. So, don't overuse and the tub will last for month's!!

This product really does leave your skin feeling like silk and after using it, I can't stop smelling myself - it smells that great and the scent lasts all day long.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yummy scent and great for gift-giving, July 31, 2010
This review is from: philosophy - gingerbread man - gingerly hot salt scrub for tub & shower (Misc.)
This was my first hot salt philosophy scrub many moons ago. I loved it. Still do, though I'm a Pure Grace girl normally. I use it dry, rubbing in circular motions all over my body, then rinsing off afterwards. It doesn't seem to work well scrubbing this on damp skin- it doesn't exfoliate as deeply and just sort of melts instead of exfoliating. Like all hot salt scrubs, it's best to buy this online in the cooler months. Getting it shipped in hotter months will most likely yield you a product akin to lava, and it'll never get back to it's normal texture again. Just a heads-up. Don't leave any of these scrubs in a hot, humid place for days on end.

It puts me in a Xmas-y mood, and I'm not really one for the holidays. Reminds me of cider and spice cookies by a warm fire. There's just something about it that's uplifting. It is a nice (if a little expensive) hostess gift at holiday parties, as an item in a stocking for a lady in your family or for that "Secret Santa" gift at work. I keep one around for a gift at the holidays, and get one for myself, too. It's not too overtly feminine in packaging, so even a man might like it. You won't be left smelling like a cookie- the fragrance doesn't seem to linger for me, which is fine. The scrub is divine- leaves skin silken. Only tempting to me in fall and winter- come spring, this is no longer appealing at all. It smells like a ginger cookie to me- I guess everyone has different tastes. I can see why some don't like it. But I think it's an innovative product that's stood the test of time.

The product is certainly of high enough quality, but I find the scent a little underwhelming and dull and, to be honest, the color completely turns me off. I haven't used it nearly as often as I thought I would, so I don't think I will buy it again given the price. To be honest, I'm happier with my cheap St. Ives apricot scrub from Wal-mart.

very refreshing. I wouldn't recommend using it before bed though, coz it might keep me awake.
