This history would be enjoyable to anyone who lived during those times. It covered HST from his first days as President to his train ride back to Missouri. His decisions during his years in office were monumental and he seemed to face a major decision every day. Naturally he was villified by republicans who have never been able to recognize quality. He was the right man for the job at the right time.
It is a good addition to my history bookshelf.
