[EDIT] I learned I was mistaken about the sizing. It seems that NIKE sizes their shoes 1/2 size larger than everyone else. So, Piloti (and the rest of the companies ;) ) are sized correctly. Nike's sizing runs larger.
Made in China. Color: Black upper/Red sole Pros: Wonderfully built shoe. High quality, soft and supple leather uppers. Flexs pretty well Removable insole Has stealthy looks, looks just like regular shoes, the dark brown ones can proably be worn to the office on casual day. The black ones may be a little too over the top for the office due to the red sole attracting too much attention. Awesome for everyday casual wearing. Cons: Sizing is a little off, I picked a 8.5 which is what I get in all my shoes and Nike sneakers, pretty consistent. These shoes are about 1/2 size larger. I should really get an 8 in these shoes. Summary: Great shoes. Nicely made, soft and supple. Flex well and the rounded heel will make driving more easier. It will make you feel like a race car driver even while going to get groceries. Recommendation: I higly recommend them. I would recommend buying via online shoe store which offers free shipping both ways in case of a fitting issue. But, those stores won't have the price Amazon has :)

I have 2 pairs of these Sebrings and I wear them almost every day to work. They really stand out as I have never seen anyone else wearing them and people do notice shoes.
They are extremely comfortable and have worn nicely, break in was pretty fast. They make heel and toe downshifts a snap and frankly cannot see myself in anything else (except at the gym). All I can say as far as negatives on these shoes is that one pair had substandard stitching on the inside of the tongue and that caused some discomfort so I had to do a little cutting away of some of the leather that was bunched up. Made me a bit mad as these are not cheap but that fixed the problem and it's not visible. Great shoes to wear with just about any outfit. I wear them to work in a bank and they could be dress shoes for all anyone knows. I also get away with wearing them out anywhere else except a wedding.

These are my second pair of Piloti driving shoes that I have owned. The first pair I used for years and were my favorite pair of shoes that I have ever worn. These guys make some very durable shoes. They really are super comfortable and are great for everyday walking. I decided to go with a little dressier version of my first pair and decided on these shoes.
Pros: these shoes look great, you wont see anyone else wearing them, and they are super comfortable. Not to mention how they improve your heal toeing and other maneuvers with your manual transmission vehicle. These shoes are so comfortable and well vented it is almost like you aren't wearing shoes at all which does bring me to a very minor con. Con: These shoes are vented very well and I would imagine this being a real plus in warmer weather, but in colder weather they do let in some cold air and your feet may get cold. Ive found myself putting the car heater to my feet a little more often than usual.

Great seller, AWESOME price.
The shoes look great but do take sometime to break in. But MUCH more comfortable to walk in than my old Oakley driving shoes. I would buy these again.

***general review***
Piloti Sebring Luxury driving shoes are comfortable, stylish, goes with just about any attire(formal and informal), and durable. Takes time to break it in but well worth it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (deep review, very wordy, LOL) I bought my Piloti Sebring Sport Driving Shoe from another company when it was on sale for $89.90 and it was worth every penny. I had never bought a Piloti shoe prior to this pair of shoes. I've bought shoes brands from "Skechers", "Merrell", "Sperry", "Johnston and Murphy", among many others and these Piloti Shoes are the most comfortable shoes I have ever put on my feet. 1) It looks good on your, ummmm, pods! have you ever bought a pair of shoes; liked it at the store; took it home; laced it up; then realized that you don't want to be seen with the new shoes and regretted the $100 pod-error you made? Well, These shoes are gorgeous! The color is rich and deep, most of other shoes either looked dull or have that "shiny" plastic look to it. The texture is buttery and soft and smooth to the touch. This particular color is actually very pairable with almost any ensemble. I've worn suits and ties with it and had gotten lots of compliments on it. And, it looks great with just a pair of jeans as well! (And a shirt, of course. They won't let me in a restaurant with just my jeans and shoes without my shirt no matter how good these shoes look) It IS narrow toed so if you don't like narrower toed shoes and prefer a wider or square toed shoes, these won't be for you. 2) IS it comfortable? Is a bird in the hand worth two in the bush(what does that mean, anyways?? LOL) It DOES take a breaking in period(so, get ready to moonwalk, dudes, j/k) The first time I tried it on, it wasn't very comfortable. It was tight and I had thought that I had made a mistake and actually put it on the shelf and bought another pair of shoes- "Lacoste Risoul" - to be exact and didn't wear the Piloti shoes for about three months. then, my Lacoste shoes wore out (in three months!!) and I had to wear these shoes as an emergency to a party. My wife and I were at the party for about 4 hours and at first, these shoes were tight and uncomfortable, I thought I was going to end up with some serious pain once I'd get home. But as the hours went on, the shoes became more and more comfortable and actually started to mold to my feet. By the time we drove home, I felt like I was driving in my barefoot. It felt natural and cozy. After about a week, I had refused to wear anything else unless I am working out or running or taking a bath... The narrower toed design didn't affect the comfort once I've broken into the shoes. And I like that pointed look, it makes my foot look a bit longer and has a good contrast with my legs since I am only about 5'7" tall. 3) Is it durable? Does a woodchuck chuck woodstock?? I wear them out almost everytime except for when I exercise or take a shower. But I've run in them to chase down my kids and I've had to run in them on other occasions as well. They are very comfortable to run in but are not made to run. The pointy toe design does make it undesirable to run fast(if you have fast running kids, they'll out run you because you might trip) The wear and tear have been very minor and the color had stayed rich. After almost a year, the shoes still look sharp. They are great for driving, it's like driving barefooted. In the office, on the carpet, these shoes feel like next to nothing. I use a leather wipe about once a month to keep it shiny but other than that, it is pretty low maintenence. 4) does it smell? YES, it smells like leather...GOOD leather, not synthetic leather or plastic sprays, and only at first. After a few days, the smell is non-existant. I sweat a lot, I usually stink up my other shoes, these shoes don't retain that "locker-room" smell for some reason. And I've sweat a plenty in them...so, in that regard, these shoes do NOT smell. **buying tips** I usually wear 9 1/2 size in U.S shoes but bought these in 9 based on what I've read. (And as I'd mentioned, thought it was tight and uncomfortable at first). I have medium width feet and these shoes are snug. If one is to have wider feet, they might not want consider these although I'd read some reviews that these shoes will mold to wider feet as well. It is a great pair of shoes, well worth the price that it's asking although I'd look for sales else where. **photos** I've included a couple of photos taken on 10/12/2010. It should be right below where the feature photo is.

my first piloti shoes. suggest buying a 1/2 size bigger if you have wide feet, shoes are narrow and tight.
Pros: great value for this price, leather and make quality is good (not great). I enjoyed driving in these shoes, they provide good pedal feel for heel-toe driving or firm position of heel on carpet. very stylish and eye-catching, got lotsa compliments. Seller was very efficient, and shipped in time. Cons: visible glue on edges. leather is very firm and hard. tongue is not comfortable. my feet were in pain after 6 hour day. i suggest taking spare shoes for walking around, and put these on before driving. I'll try to find away to make lether soft.

I bought these for my husband who absolutely loves them. He wears a European size 42 which equates to a U.S. size 8 1/2 but chose the U.S. size 9 as most all of his athletic shoes are 9 and fit well. So do these. The shoe is narrow at the toe but that can be adjusted slightly with the lacing which is quite ample. The right shoe sole has additional material up the front on the side to protect from heat in a cramped race car. (Some of the smaller class formula race cars get very hot in the cockpit and parts of their frames may touch the driver's foot but my husband only dreams of racing.) Upon receipt of the order, he insisted on finding an oxblood shoe cream to polish them and a pair of cedar shoe trees from a good shoe repair shop (should have bought those at Amazon, too!) Oh well. (Obsessive.) Amazon is well named as there are a lot of associated sellers now so you may find that searching among them will reward you with a better price. Bargain Outfitters, an Amazon vendor, had these shoes for one third the price of other competitors on Amazon. The catch? The color had to be oxblood. The black or the gray cost $149 elsewhere; the oxblood $49 at Bargain Outfitters who shipped the shoes remarkably fast considering their facility is near Canada and was covered with snow at the time. My husband does not wear these shoes anywhere but in the car or around the house. He takes another pair of shoes with him in the car to wear at our destination. The only problem is now he wants a Porsche the same color and that's an expensive special order option. I didn't save THAT much on the shoes I tell him but the baleful looks are incessant. Caveat emptor but seriously, the shoes, Amazon, the seller were wonderful but hurry if you want a pair before the oxblood sells out! Good luck!

Piloti Sebring Shoe,

This shoe looks great, and is nicely made. It does not have much cushion, but then again it is a driving shoe; these are not intended for extensive walking, etc.
The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating, I feel this shoe runs narrow in size.

Excellent Value and Quality in Red and Black, But Vintage Saddle, No,

Piloti makes a great product. These are my third pair. They arrived today, and I already love them. They fit and look great. The quality is excellent. I must admit, however, that I'm not prepared to pay more than fifty USD for a pair in leather, whether they be the Sebring or the Prototipo. But if I can find men's size 11 at that price, I'll snatch them up. I have the Prototipo style in green leather and blue suede, and I'll stock up if I can find pairs in blue leather for no more than fifty. The Prototipo and Sebring styles are excellent shoes. I wish Piloti would make more sizes and colors available in those two styles.
I also recently purchased a pair of the vintage saddle in the same shoe. The black is full-grain leather. The red is full-grain leather. The vintage saddle is suede. I was really disappointed and took off two stars because that fact simply wasn't made clear. If it had been, I wouldn't have ordered in vintage saddle. |
