My only lament about this book is the heavy Jewish history that is included with it, but it may be that predominantly Jewish science established NMR. I.I. Rabi was one of the founding fathers of NMR, but he was not a practicing Jew. NMR was developed around the same time that World War II was going on. It started in 1923 with Rabi and continues to this day. The book finishes with Lauterbeur and Damadian, but goes through successive Nobel Laureates that helped develop some aspect of NMR. World War II was the big push in funding necessary to secure the science of NMR as both a diagnostic tool in medicine as well as a method for determining chemical structures.

Overall, the book was very good. Well written with few equations included.
