Surfing aside, this is a novel approach to Indonesan languag,
By A Customer
I do not pretend to be a surfer. I am a linguist,a tour leader and a teacher of Indonesian Language. This book was offered to me for an opinion and it was with a degree of skepticism that I started. The author has the most novel and downright sensible approach to teaching the language as it applies to surfers and short-time tourists. Instead of labouring with a vocabulary that is totally useless for the tourist, it hones right in on the very things that Indonesians will want to talk about and the things you will want to be able to say. I have taught many people to speak Indonesian (and many Indonesians to speak English too) but getting the acccent right is so hard! Not with Mr Neely's approach...at last the speaker sounds somewhat Indonesian ! As tour leaders to "Bali and Beyond" this book is now recommended to our clients by us. Well Done, Peter Neely ! Really good info if you are first timer to indo,
By A Customer
This book will show you places in indo that would take you months to find yourself and the phrase section will really help you in your travels. It is only a small book so it travels light and it also has pictures [ some not so recent,Peter.] of the surf spots you will find around the place. Just a great travel book, even if only used for dreaming.
