A much underrated album at the time., April 12, 1999
By A Customer
In a way paradoxical to their name nobody has ever matched Audience's songwriting skill and idiosyncratic interpretation of their own material. Their music on their first album as indeed on all their albums ranges from from the gentle ("Poet") to the deafening ("Heaven was an Island"), yet is always interspersed with delicate humour thus keeping up the listener's healthy balance. Their first album was hardy risk at a the when the guitar dominated rock music. Rhose interested may want to know that the first album soon disappeared after its release, then was bootlegged in Italy and finally saw its light of day on CD (RPM). To sum it up a most relevant album in the history of the inventive sidfe of rock music.
