LIKE BEING THERE!,

Actually, I have just finished the 4 tape set (8 hrs!), and if you love bike racing, you will like this alot. If you can find it, the 8hr. version is worth the extra cash! More live action and up close video than you could imagine. The scenery of the french countryside is incredible & the first time that you see Lance Armstrong attack On the first mountain stage and ride everyone right off of his wheel sucking air you will be on your indoor trainer faster than you can say viva 'la france! Check your local pro bike shop for the 8hr. version if Amazon cannot get it.

focus on the mountain stages please,
By A Customer
Well, the coverage starts of rather monotonously by covering the sprint finishes in the early stages, and did justice to the fact that Cippolini broke the record. I'd liked to have seen more coverage of individual teams and explanations of the tactics as well used by them. Needless to say I've watched the set about three times already. Good buy.

This 2 tape serie does a decent job a showing the 1999 Tour but falls short of offering insight, special coverage, exclusinve interviews. It's a compilation of the TV coverage of that tour a and not an insightful documentary. One would expect more in depth coverage and additional footage. While it's good (because the Tour is amazing no matter what and Lance is awesome) it's on occasion slow, superfial and incomplete.
