5.0 out of 5 stars My daugher loved this Barbie
This is a fun toy for the bathtub or pool. You wind it up and it really does swim across the water. My daughter has enjoyed hours of fun playing with it.

My cousin got this toy for her 3rd Birthday,And at first she was thrilled(she is a huge fan of barbie and she is taking swim lessons),Untill she got it out of the box...You see,the arms spin around like she's really swimming when you wind them up from the back,So when you put her in water she swims.......But after spinning the arms severl times it broke, and she was left...

This Barbie is great for bathtime fun. Wind her up and she will swim and keep you little girl giggling, talking, and actually bathing. My daughter is one who usually wants to get in and get right back out. Not anymore. I would recommend this Barbie since she was designed to be in the water, and save them more expensive ones for outside of the tub. ....

I bought this toy for my 4 year old daughter and she loves it. It is a little difficult for her to get the Barbie to swim at first. However, with a little practice she figured it out. This Barbie actually swims across the pool or tub. I definetly recommend it.

I have to start by saying that I read some of the reviews here on this website before I bought this doll for my daughter and I was shocked that this doll actually did do what it's intent is. My daughter was so excited to receive this and she couldn't wait to use her in the bath...you could imagine my happiness when I saw that she wasn't disappointed in the doll...Kudos to Mattel on this one....Keep up the good work.....and keep on producing this one and more like it.

She really swims quite well and her hair stays neat. My almost 4 year old son and 20 month old daughter both love to play with her in the pool. The hardest part is getting them to understand that she only swims if you don't touch her in the water! The winding up is pretty easy, my almost 4 year old can wind her himself.

This doll is a very nice one. It looks real cool and it's a must-buy. My friends have been amazed with the way it swims. It's sooooo sweeeeet! Keep up the wonderful work Mattel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Swim Barbie Falling Apart, July 2, 2002
= Durability:2.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
Our daughter really enjoys this Barbie creation. The doll winds up and swims, but with no rougher handling than having it swim, the leg broke off at the calf. Approximately 4 weeks later (what - do you think she would not play with it without a foot?), the neck area began to chip causing her head to fall off regularly. In our daughter's words, "Oooo, that's yucky." Our daughter plays regularly with a number of Barbies that she has and is careful with them. She keeps them in plastic shoe boxes. For some reason, this particular one had some durability problems. However, if it makes you feel better, we are getting another one. Enjoy!

I am buying this doll for myself because i am a swimmer. I, a 15 year old, was very excited when I saw this Barbie because swimming is a very underappreciated sport. I love swimming and I am very happy that Mattel appreciates the fact that it is a sport.

My 8 yr. old friend has one and loves it. I personnaly wouldn't mind having one but being my age- no I would not get one to swim in the tub! But I wish I had one when I was younger, it really dose swim and I used to sneak dolls in the tub to play with and she dose too- just one that swims. I hope this helps!
