5.0 out of 5 stars Looks exactly like the character on TV!
Only a true Simpsons fan would appreciate the fantastic detail in which these Playmates Simpsons characters are designed. They look like they've been pulled straight from the TV into 3D form. 2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing
As is the case with most of the Playmates characters, the Captain looks great. However, he only says one line, and only in one environment (the church). In addition, he is too big to fit in the pews with another character.

I've got him off to the side of my environments. Maybe he'll work better in a future setting. A real let down.

The small parts are not for kiddos... accessories such as the "Frying Dutchman" tuna fish can and the harpoon can be a choking hazard... rather these action figures are for adults who love the show. Captain McCallister stands without falling and makes a great computer buddy (sitting on CPU or monitor) and this character is not just for Simpsons fans, but also a cute gift for fishermen or boat enthusiasts.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great piece for a Simpsons Fan!!, July 28, 2001

For any Simpsons fan, you know that there is a million different items for you to collect, but they haven't been all that great. Things have changed. The new collection of Simpsons figures and playsets are the perfect collectible for the Simpsons fan.

These charecters are the most realistic Simpsons looking figures that has ever been made. In the past, the Simpsons figures have been pretty bad representations of what you see on tv, but Playmates certainly changed that. These charecters are as if the cartoons stepped right out of your tv in 3-D. They are great to play with, or as I prefer to keep it in the box and hang on the wall.

Another great thing about this collection of figures is that we can finally get charecters other than the Simpsons. In the past toy makers have only produced the Simpson family, and maybe a couple of other charecters. Now, you have the chance to buy (according to rumors) every charecter that has ever been on the show! From Krusty the Clown to Grounds-Keeper Willie, the plan is to make a figure of every charecter that has ever appeared on the show. Whether that will happen or not, is yet to be seen, but judging on the popularity of these figures I don't see why they wouldn't make ever charecter.

Buy one, or buy them all these Simpsons figures make a great collectible for people of any age, just as long as they love the best show on tv, The Simpsons!
