I reviewed several books, and found this one to have more deail pages. I think they reflect what a child would like to know about their self when they are grown. The place to put the birthday photo seems to be alittle small; I would have liked a larger space.I especially like the page where the mother and dad can write a letter to the child.

I bought this baby book 3 1/2 years ago to use for my first baby and I really like it. It is very detailed and it goes from birth to seven years. (instead of your typical birth to 5 years-or less) I am due with my second baby in May 03 and now that I have found this book again I plan on buying it for the second baby. That is just how much I like it!! It is not gender specific so you can use for either a boy or a girl. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a baby book.

I have the matching photo album and love both. This book is so cool. It has a lot of great ideas, asking questions about parents, grandparents from both sides of family so that your child will know a little bit about his heritage. Pages for mommy and daddy to write letters, a medical record page, dental record page, a page for each birthday up to age 7(with spaces to put pictures)lines for the child to put his autograph up to age 7, questions about what was going on in the world when he/she was born, etc, etc, etc.... it is the bomb scrapbook. You have to get it for your child. I have thoroughly enjoyed filling it out and have 6 more years to enjoy doing so.

I must have spent three hours at Babies R Us looking through all of the baby memory books available. My oldest two sons have the exact same book, but that style was discontinued and I had to find a new one... and the CR Gibson web site wasn't much help. After paging through all the books on display, I concluded that this one was the best. The illustrations weren't overwhelming presences, but added a gentle touch to the pages. The lullaby baby quotes weren't simplistic or overly strong -- again, just the right touch for a baby book. What I really like is that the pages aren't plain and blank, with lines to fill in, but colorful (not overwhelmingly so) with a lovely layout and flow that makes you want to fill the whole book in at once. Blank pages with lines to fill in get boring after so many of the same, but this book keeps your interest and is beautiful to look at... and goes beyond the 1st year -- and so many bay books these days don't do that any more. There are also coordinating photo albums and a grandmother's brag book. If you're looking for a memory book or a shower gift, this one is definitely memorable, charming, and will be kept a lifetime.
