A good Basic Phone for those with limited needs, September 5, 2004
This is my second Nokia with the same basic structure. Yes I drop it, but that's my fault...not the phone. It survives. For those of us that just want a phone without the bells and whistles, it is a servicable option. It is easy to read and I like how lit up it is. The key pads are large enough for my old man fingers to work, although the "K" is a bit hard to read. I miss the ability to have multiple phone numbers listed for one address book entry but I worked around it. As I said, I am older and I liked the weight and substance of the phone. Some of these little new phones with all the "stuff" on them are very light and small. In my mind I can't help but think "cheap". Some of the complaints in these reviews are caused by problems with the service rather than the phone. Or some are because the phone lacks certain features. Well duh...don't expect a phone you're getting for $ 10 or less to match all the bells and whistles of a $ 300 high tech machina ex deus. For those with basic, realistic expectations this has been a a great telephone.

No problem phone, September 24, 2004
This phone is nothing special but it is reliable. Holds all my number and never gives me trouble. Would be nice if call time and *date* were displayed, and the standard Nokia ring tones are crappy, but otherwise it's been a really solid phone.

Quiet Ringtones, May 3, 2005
This phone is excellent in all respects, save one -- the ringtones are very quiet, so quiet in fact, that at the highest volume, they're difficult to hear outdoors. If you remove the battery, then put it back in again, the volume goes back to "normal", but they're still quiet, even on level 5. If you don't need loud tones when your phone rings, I highly recommend this phone. As others have said, the display is excellent -- even for someone like me, who is visually impaired.

A GREAT phone for kids that don't need it very often, April 12, 2005
A Kid's Review
I bought this phone as a part of the AT&T Free2go wireless plan, and it has worked out perfectly ever since. The bright blue light is a great flashlight for the dark, and although the numbers are a little harder to push, they are perfectly sized. The ringtones arn't polyphonic, obviously, but are still quite good. This phone is a little on the heavy side, but it is EXTREMELY sturdy... much better then those expensive, light phones.

Dont confuse it with a higher end Nokia, October 12, 2004
Dont understand why ppl BRAG so much about a product like this, its not a PDA/ CAMERA replacment its just a BASIC handset and if someone thinks that its features/ Looks are TOO CHEAP then they should spend some reasonable amount of money and and buy an expensive handset!!! Some people are a little too much! Well guys this is Nokia version of a Basic handset which is EXTREMEY realiable and VERY EASY to OPERATE esp for those who just want a cell and are not into TECHNOLOGY, I myself have been using it on AT&T FREE2GO and it has been JUST GREAT - AT&T FREE2Go and Nokia 2260 are a great basic combination esp for those who need a cell phone for occasional use. I RECOMMEND IT CUZ I OWN IT FOR 5 months now!!!

Ok phone, December 22, 2003
This phone is pretty good. If you are looking for games and polyphonic ringtones you shouldn't get this phone but if you are looking for a nice phone that works well get this one. It has a really cool blue background light. This phone is easy to use. I agree with one of the reviewer saying that this phone is easy to drop. It is but it is well made and droping it doesn't seem like a problem. For me it has good reception. Overall I would reccomend this phone.

LEMON edtion Nokia DON"T BUY, May 19, 2004
I got this phone as free upgrade to replace my old faithful 8260. When it finally gave up after 4 yrs & three family members worth of hard use, I was glad to choose it's updated cousin. That is until I got the phone. For some, reason some people who I contact regularly could not receive ANY audio from this phone. Even with full signal strength on both ends. Called ATT they said this was a known defect with some phones & they would gladly replace it.. The Second 2260 was tolerable until just after the 30 day warrenty expired. As I was entering a # the keyboard locked. on the # 2When this happens all you can do is try to turn phone off & wait until decindes to work again. This is also a well know defect to ATT & now to me Don't take the chance of finding others

Poor reception, April 15, 2004
By A Customer
This phone does not work in many of the places my old Nokia did, e.g., my house, my car, parked by any building, etc. or inside a store. It is virtually useless. I think it is the internal antenna that causes the problem. I am returning it and reactivating my 5 year old Nokia with external antenna.

If you miss your old nokia..., April 5, 2004
By A Customer
This one makes having to upgrade a little less painful. I miss my bigger older Nokia (can't recall the number). It doesn't have all the polyphonic bells and whistles those expensive phones have but a cell phone is a cell phone. It's not a camera and it's not an instant messenger. I believe in multi-tasking but let's not get ridiculous.
