My 6 yr old son bought this bear with his own birthday money. I previously had refused to buy it because I figured it would glow for about 5 minutes then fizzle out. Anyway, I leave it on his dresser in his room with the bedroom light on and let it "charge up" while he is getting ready for bed. I have been in to check on him after 6 hours and it is still faintly glowing. We love it, he plans on buying one for his little sister for her birthday.

The Carebears Funshine bear is a great friend for any person who gets lonely sometimes. You will have tons of fun with this, sometimes I could spend my whole day with this bear. So if I could spend a whole day with it you could too. This is a great bear.

I am very surprised that this is a good toy. I thought that it wouldn't glow for very long, most "glow in the dark" toys barely glow. This one does. She puts it under a lamp during our bed time routine, then takes it to bed and it really glows for a while. It seems to comfort her in the dark. Fortunately, her little sister, in the same room, doesn't seem bothered by its glow.

my son was holding the care bear up to the light, for 2 minutes, it got too hot, it started to smother on fire, and burned my son's wrist to the touch.
