3.0 out of 5 stars Like it, but definitely don't love it.....
It was too short for my husband (and he's only 5' 8") but good for me because I'm only 5'. Other cons are that the storage basket is too small, no cupholders for you or your child, it doesn't go to a full sitting position so my son was laying somewhat reclined the whole time (which he didn't like) and the drive is just okay...definitely not smooth as the Maclaren. We researched strollers online and in a consumer guide bood called Baby 411 (highly recommended). There sure a bunch of strollers out there and it was a difficult choice. You definitely need to understand how you will use your stroller in order to make a good choice. We have a baby jogger already so we had focused our search on compact, lightweight strollers that would be good for mall walking and shopping.

We didn't like the cheap models or the real expensive ones so we we're looking at the $75 to $125 price point. At this price you could get a low end model MacLaren or Peg but you don't get much with these strollers. Deciding on a price range (and sticking to it!) is something you should do before shopping.

It came down to the Combi EX and a Chicco. They had similar features, price, and weight. The Chicco had a much better basket which almost tipped the scales. But the Chicco fabric couldn't be removed so that was a showstopper for us.

For pros on the Combi I'd say weight, umbrella-like folding, a lot padding, and the removeable cover. It's a bit narrow which people might be weary of but it fits between the rows at my cinema. It's also easy to manouver with 1 hand which the Chicco wasn't because it's handles didn't connect.

For cons, the basket is small and hard to get stuff in. The front wheels also have to be facing forward in order for it to folder properly but I figure most strollers have to be "just so" for easy folding.

4.0 out of 5 stars finally a great stroller, January 5, 2006
This review is from: Cosmo EX Stroller - Caribbean
I have gone through 4 strollers in the last 5 months and I recently purchased this stroller and I love it. The baby looks comfy and the stroller has all the features she needs. As for the features for the parent as with any stroller there is give and take. The stroller does not have a parent tray but it steers easily with one hand and the basket is not large enough to put anything in. My husband and I were able to easily fix both of these problems at BRU by purchasing a cup holder and a hang on basket both pieces totalled $10. And the best part to me is the stroller is super light weight and fits great in my beetle!

We bought the Combi Cosmo EX four months ago for our then six month old. We have become fans of lightweight, compact strollers and use them much more that full-size or double strollers. We bought a Graco Citilite three years ago for our first child and loved everything about it. When we had the second child we went to buy another one but were dissapointed to find out that Graco no longer sold them.

We went on a long search for a suitable substitute. The criteria were comfort, lightweight, compact, durable and economical. The Combi Cosmo EX won out.

Pros:
Full-sized seat comfortable for child.
Five-point harness.
Full, adjustable recline.
Lightweight, easy to lift with one hand.
Very compact, fits easily in the truck with other luggage.
Carrying strap makes it easy to carry stroller and child at the same time.
Reasonably priced.

Cons (in comparison to my Graco Citilite):
Does not steer very easily with one hand, especially sharp turns.
Feels a little wobbly especially with a larger child because of how it folds there is limited cross stablization.
Underneath storage basket is a little small.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very light, portable but not for tall people, March 23, 2006
This review is from: Cosmo EX Stroller - Caribbean
Firstly, the good points:
1. This is a very good stroller if you are looking for something lightweight, that folds easily and doesnt take a lot of space.
it is only 11 pounds, tri fold, has a sholder strap and folds very easily.
2. The storage space is adequate - has a basket on a smaller side, but can fit a blanket for a nice day out, bottle, book, change of clothes for baby, a shirt for parent. Also has a small pocket that fits cell phone, keys and other small stuff.
Even has a bottle/cup holder that attaches to the bar in front, could be removed if not needed.
3. Wheels - move very nicely, even though they are on the smaller side, provide nice ride, not too bumpy.
4. Seat recline- reclines down nicely, so the baby can sleep comfortably. Raising it up could be tricky - has 2 threads that you pull, and have to hold the plastic piece at the same time, so may need both hands.
Overall it is a very good stroller especially considering the price and the portability.
but.
here are the negatives -
1. if you are taller than 5'6 wouldnt recommend it, you will be doing alot of bending over, not too comfortable.
2. Basket - the mesh material that is made out is hanging a bit low, so the wheels touch it when in motion and eventually ( in a month or so ) you will have some large holes in the basket .
3. Wheels - the way they are positioned combined with the height of the parent could lead to you stepping on the back wheels when moving the stroller. the only way to avoid is to hold the bar with the hands bit outstreched ( not very comfortable! ) a few times I almost flipped the stroller while doing it - very scary.
4. Handle is not the most comfortable thing to hold on to. Not possible to hang anything on there either.
5. Seat recline - the seat doesnt come up high enough, so the child appears to be sittiing /half laying position - not too good.
All this said, overall it is a good stroller, for the money, and portability. I would definitely stay away from it if you live in a big sity and do lots of walking, or if you are on taller side ( I am 5'8 and find it very uncomfortable). Could be a perfect thing for travelling though.
Hope this helps others , since i bought it when noone reviewed it yet, and now ended up buying Maclaren that has adjustable handles and is more sturdy.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Stroller, March 21, 2006
This review is from: Cosmo EX Stroller - Caribbean
This stroller is the best ever. I have now replaced three strollers with this one stroller!

The Good:
1. Wheels are big but not too big, they can roll over all surfaces, there sturdy, steer perfectly.
2. The stroller folds in a snap without effort. It can fold in two ways. First is just in half - love this because when you fold it, it does not slam against the ground. Second is folds in half and then in half again - this is awesome when you have a small trunk or want to carry it somewhere because it has a carry strap that you can wrap around your shoulder!
3. The fabric is comfy, easy to clean, well padded, and nice looking.
4. It has a basket, now this is a compact stroller so the basket is not huge.
5. This stroller is light as can be.
6. It has a very large sun visor that is retractable and locks in place. Also has a parent view window!
7. Has a bar in front of the seat which is great for putting toy bars and such. I cannot live without this feature.
8. Has the 5 point harness belt buckle. I do not have to worry about my son climbing out now!!!!
9. As baby grows it has a foot rest for them.
10. Has cup holder for baby, sorry none for parents
11. Has front and rear locks on the wheels.
12. Handle bar is comfy to the grip, and high enough to where we are not bend over pushing it. (I am 5'4 and my husband is 5'11)
13. Has a large pocket for parents in the back under the handlebar.
14. The seat reclines all the way back for nap time on the go. The seat is the easiest I have used yet when it comes to adjusting to full recline or sit up positions.

I could keep going but I would take up the whole page.

The Bad:
NONE!!!!!!!

update - when my sister saw my stroller she went out that day and bought one too!!! Her son is 5 months old

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Happy!, February 1, 2006
This review is from: Cosmo EX Stroller - Caribbean
I am very happy with my combi lightweight stroller. I bought it in addition to my large Graco stroller(which I like but for different reasons). It is the perfect stroller for when we are quickly running into the store (or mall) and esp. for long trips. Without this stroller (or something in its class) we wouldn't be able to have stroller on vacation. I would recommend this stroller to anyone who needs something lightweight, reliable and easy to use.

4.0 out of 5 stars great lightweight stroller, March 21, 2006

This review is from: Cosmo EX Stroller - Caribbean
My husband & I just returned from Spring Training with our 9 month old son. We argued about whether or not to bring a stroller.I must say I was really nervous about going through the airport but this little stroller was a dream!!! Our other stroller is a very large Graco (so large, our son slept in it for 5 months before moving to his crib in his own room).
True, the basket is pretty useless but thats about the only problem. Fold up is so easy & the carry strap was perfect for going from the airport to the shuttle carrying baby plus another bag!! Also the full recline is a big plus!
So glad we found it!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Stroller, January 20, 2006
This review is from: Cosmo EX Stroller - Caribbean
My son is 8 months old and 16 pds. He fit the shoulder straps perfectly after my husband adjusted them to make them tighter. The previous comment said they don't tighten but I know they do if you know how to read the directions. The basket is small so I gave this stroller 4 stars. I almost bought the volo 2006 by Mcclaren but folding it up was a major pain so I went with this one and am very pleased with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for stairs!, March 16, 2006
This review is from: Cosmo EX Stroller - Caribbean
Let me first say I absolutely love this stroller. When my daughter was born, I lived on the fifth floor of an apartmnet with no elevator, so when I was stroller shopping, small and lightweight were the top two feaures I was looking for. But I also wanted something that could accomodate a newborn. This stroller was it. The reclining position accomodated my little princess. And now that she older, I sit it upright so that she can look around. I love that it is so lightweight! That means it's easy to cart places, and when my baby girl fusses so that I need to hold her, I can put her in one arm and push the stroller with the other!
I've read complaints about the basket being small and no cup holder, but if you want a delux stroller, get one. If you want one that's easy to take places without all the hassle, this is it! It's perfect for one the go and easy to fold up so there's no messing around. Also, I haven't had any trouble with the reclining mechanism and I've been using it for 6 months now. You can also add features (I bought an Eddie Bauer sun shade and a Leapfrog stroller bar toy) and it still folds up easily! How perfect!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good "Car" Stroller", April 6, 2006
This review is from: Cosmo EX Stroller - Caribbean
I bought this stroller to replace the seatless frame type which supported the infant car seat. It is similarly compact, lightweight and very easy to set up and break down. I love the carry strap and the harness which is more secure for my very tiny six month old. The only negatives are the basket underneath is awkwardly attached and very small - I don't really use it as a result, there is no fixed leg seperator, so when you put the baby in, you have to be careful - if they are squirmy they can slide out the bottom while you are trying to get them in (This has not been a problem once both my husband and I got used to it) and lastly, the cup holder is for the child and there is none for mom or dad - we bought a really easy to install cup holder at "The Right Start" for ten bucks and the problem was solved. Overall I really like the stroller and can deal with the design issues.
