This is a cute phone and it looks like a landline but is a portable. I bought two of these phones. I like it so much better than the phones that offer one or two extensions because the range is so much better with its own base. AND it is so much more affordable than the Panasonic and works much better too. The price is about 50 cents cheaper than Target and there's no tax and no shipping charges if you have Amazon Prime.

The shape and size first caught my eye. I loved the look of it and feel. It has a nice curved shape and so cradles well under the head and shoulder or hand. My first one was dropped onto carpet when we were moving the nightstand. The display went out in both the hand piece and the base. Bummer, right? And my fault that it was ruined. I'd like to know the time and also who is calling. So I get another one on Amazon, since it's cheaper than Target. I'm very very careful not to jar the delicate LCD. Doesn't matter, it fails again. So now I have 2 of these on both sides of the bed and neither has a working display. I really liked being able to touch the button on the display at night to check the time. I really liked being able to see the caller ID to know if the phone call was for me. Nope. Not going to happen, most of their functionality is gone. I'm very disappointed in the LCD feature. I would not recommend this phone.

It is cure and works well, but...
- it is smaller than the "regular" phone
- function button's labels are veeeery small
- have no "speaker" function.

I purchased this phone 3+ years ago as a non-returnable discontinued item priced at $25.00, at such a low price I didn't expect it to be a high quality phone. Purchase based solely appearance and uniqueness. Knowing it was nonreturnable, I decided that if the phone's quality was low, I would place it in our bedroom as a secondary phone.

As it turns out purchasing this phone has become one of my best purchases, attributes are listed below:

ATTRIBUTES: Wide volume control which makes phone conversations more comfortable when speaking to anyone with hearing deficits since they tend to speak painful loud when having phone conversations such as the case of my Mom. This phone enables me to turn the volume to the lowest setting during conversations with my Mom.

The base has enough weight that it doesn't move about and end up on the floor.

The handset is comfortable.

It is a very well made sturdy phone.

Very easy to program, even for me as I am described by my family to be "technically challenged".

In the dark I am able to see the phone number on the base before answering the phone.

After setting up this phone, I wanted to buy another one for my Mom because she would be able to hear me clearly due to the volume control. I called the store to see if they had another one but I had purchased the last one. I may have to send my Mom this phone as I do not have a hearing deficit.

Once again this phone has a lovely appearance. Comes in two colors, white or black. It would look great in any setting.

I rate this phone with five stars in all aspects especially the volume control feature. I highly recommend this phone as I have recommended it to my family and friends.

~As an Industrial-Designer i don't hesitate to say that this is my favorite desk-phone, -for it not only looks invitingly user friendly, --it IS just that! While a bit pricey here, --i purchased my 'black' one back in Jan.-2008 at Target-stores for under $50 (-are also offered in black by Amazon). Recently, some 6-yrs. later the concealed battery finally began loosing its performance (-cautioned by a faint beeping 'warning' of imminently dying on longer phone-calls). Apparently most users failed to read their owners-manual, for it explains that you will eventually have to replace the $6.60 rechargable battery by BYD #9B-0105 (-which replaces the original BYD/NiCad./Hydride #H-AAA-600BX3 Measuring- 1.75"L x 1.2"W x 0.38"Thick) that precisely inserts into the Bat.-cavity hidden beneath the arched upper-shell of the hand-piece. To gain access to the Bat.-compartment, one need only unscrew both of the silver-rings (-surrounding the ear & mouth pieces); -then with the silver-rings removed, note the small declivity on the right-side of the mouth-piece, -and insert an ordinary flat-bladed screwdriver so as to gently pry the back/upper-shell from the portion of the handpiece having the dial-pad. There you will find the trusty battery that enables you to stroll quite a fair distance from the stationary-phone portion; --if you can't use the phone's handpiece remotely --then you likely need to replace this handpiece batery; -for the stationary-phone portion is normally sustained by a 9-v.dc. wall-outlet transformer. Hope this info. helps those perplexed by this phone's stealthly battery... ~Robair in SanDiego

This item is a bit pricey for what you get. Spec. not completely listed.
Instructions not complete. Very little battery info. Like stand-by time, talk time, etc. Low battery indicator does not seem to work. GE needs to take lessons from Panasonic!!

It is definitely a cute and unique looking phone that adds an accent to your home, but the LCD display faded in an year or so. I wish there were more variety in ring tones.

This is a mixed review of this product. I already owned 2 of this phone when I ordered 2 more. The phone has good weight and actually feels like the mouthpiece and earpiece are the right distance away so that you don't need to slide the phone while talking and listening. It the best feeling cordless phone that I've used in years. The bad part about this review is that one of the 2 had a malfuction in the earpiece so I did have to return that one. But I quickly re-ordered a replacement. It's impossible, these days, to find the phone in black, so I had to purchase the white units. I'm hoping that this is due to a manufacturing supply issue rather than them no longer making this phone.

I read all the reviews about this phone and decided to buy it anyway. Unlike some people, the reception I get in the other rooms in my house is great. I can take the phone out on my front porch and still get good reception. I am extremely happy with the quality of the phone and its features.

Excellent phone for bedroom/desk. Bought one for myself and my parents - they love it. It is very comfortable with the contoured shape which is not like the typical flat-shaped cordless phones.
