Pros: 4 HDMI Ports.
1080P
Adjustable picture format (4:3, 16:9, Automatic)
Beautiful picture (Sometimes too realistic!)
Decent Sound
Easy Menu options Easy but plentiful configuration options.
Simple Remote.
Cons: No Picture in Picture
Location of power cord connection.
I couldn't afford two.
Other Thoughts: This TV is an incredible value for the price I paid. I had been shopping around for months (since I had a personal financial issue and had to sell my Vizio 42 1080i), but wanted to go with a 1080p, because I plan to buy a BluRay player by the end of the year.
I saw this at a local retailer at a really nice price and decided to go with it. I have no regrets, except that I could not afford two.

The picture is SUPERB. In the store, it sat next to a Sony Bravia 40 inch, and the picture was more brilliant, and colorful. I got it home and decided to watch Doomsday on it. WOW. Not to be too graphic, but There was a scene where they used a blood splatter effect. I felt like I needed to get a rag and a bucket. I'll leave it at that.
My only big complaint is the location of the power connector. it interferes with my mounting. But i drilled a hole through the plate so no qualms.

I didn't buy this TV at Amazon, but I did buy it at Sam's Club. $748.00 at Sam's. Had it for a month so far, with NO issues what-so-ever. Bought it, got it home, set it up.

VERY VERY VERY User Friendly, right out of the box!!!!

No complaints at all. Great picture, great sound, and great value for your money... Will buy this TV again for my bedroom.

I've used this TV for a few months and I really like the picture quality, especially in HD channels. It has inputs on the side and on the back for all my gadgets. I've had no problems with it.

This Is a great tv; my parents love it...but they cant tell the difference of 720p or 1080p....The Box is misleading also...Im going to return mine because it doesnt specifically say that its actually a "1080p True HD"......Research people between the Term "True HD and Full HD"...Personally this Tv aint for me...

I have been shopping for a 40+ HD 1080P set for a couple of months. I found several for around 799 but none lower. I finally gave up trying to find a less expensive TV and tried to purchase a Phillips set from Target. They informed me that they were out of stock on this tv which was on sale for 799 a 12% discount from the regular price. I went ahead and asked for a rain check. When I got it I noticed that I could apply the discount to any similar product. I had also been looking a the Magnavox which was the same price as the Phillips was on sale. After applying the discount the new price was 699, 100 dollars less so I jumped at it.

As for the picture I am very happy and would certainly buy it again. This rain cloud had a silver lining,

I purchased this TV last week at Sam's Club for $747. Two days later the price dropped to $697. My initial reaction to the TV was positive. I was surprised to find an extra set of HDMI connections on the side of the TV. The box stated 3 sets when there was actually 4. I connected it to my HD cable box via component video and switched it on. I thought the picture was excellent (initially).

Later when I tried to connect my Surround Sound System, I had my first issue. I had been using an RCA audio out from my prior TV. This TV didn't have one. No big deal really, I would simply connect a different way.

After a few hours of TV watching, I had something happen that really made me question the quality of this TV. All of a sudden, a loud static sound (at full volume) screeched from the TV. The volume control had no effect on the sound. I rebooted the TV and all "seemed" OK.

I started researching this TV for this problem online and found several reports of this on forums. Apparently there had been many issues with this TV that had been corrected with fifteen different firmware updates. Now... why would a company release a product for sale that has required fifteen firmware updates and apparently still has issues???? My TV did have the latest version, so my issue had not been addressed.

I was still OK with the TV if it didn't happen again. Well, the next night while watching suddenly... the horrid static sound rang out again. Also, the picture seemed to jump around frequently trying to auto resize. Needless to say, I boxed the TV back up and returned it to Sam's Club.

I swapped it for a Vizio XVT 120hz 42" that Sam's had just dropped the price to $797. There is no comparison in these TV's. The Vizio has 120hz, more connections including the audio out, PIP, a better build, better picture, and better sound. The picture does not wander like the Magnavox.

If I were you, I'd stay away from the Magnavox. It's cheap... but in the case of this TV, you get what you pay for. So far, I would highly recommend the Vizio SV420XVT for just slightly more.
