Previous to buying a Lenovo N500, I have owned a Lenovo N100 3000. The N100 3000 is a rock solid machine that has never given me an ounce of trouble and always impressed me with its good value and hidden features. If only the same could be said for the N500. But no. The N500 runs slowly under XP and Vista, with constant freezing, a haunted mouse that often jumps all over the screen on its own (when it's responding at all). The build of the machine is poor, with flimsy, empty platic covering most sections. The mousepad seems designed to be caught by accident while typing. The pad is almost flush with the same area where I rest my palms while typing. There is no pre-packages software worth having on the machine, no bluetooth, a lame wifi application...sigh. On it goes.
