The first two things I look for in clothing are does the item look good and is it comfortable. Then I move on, to value. These pants hit all three "sweet spots" very well.

I tried a couple of pair of these pants this week. I got them, washed and dried them according to instructions, hung them up, and was really impressed by the feel of the fabric (very soft) and the construction -- and the crisp look as the wrinkles fell out. Putting a pair on, they looked good enough that with a blazer and tie, I wore them to court. They are extremely comfortable, and in that way are far superior to the Dockers I bought at the same time. In construction, they are the equal or superior to Dockers, and the cut of the legs and through the "stride" is more generous. They also have a higher waist. The permanent press looked very good, and they moved with me, sitting and standing, in Court.

While I'm really happy with these pants -- especially for the price, I'll give them 4 stars right now, because I don't know how well the permanent press or the fabric will hold up, but I can see these pants as the business traveler's friends. Hang them (at least while they're fairly new), and wrinkles just fall out. I have never heard of this brand, but at least initially, I think these are an excellent value. Drive to a meeting and be assured your trousers will look good within a couple of minutes after getting out of the car. They will not replace my heavy dress twills (about 4 times the price), which I know will wear many years, but then they don't have to go to the cleaners or be pressed before every wearing.

I'll come back in a few months and edit the review to say how they do after several washes and wearings.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

FOLLOW-UP: I increased the review to 5 stars. After 9 months and 25 or so washings, the permanent press is holding up very well. Dry them on a cool setting, and remove promptly and hang by the cuffs -- they look good -- certainly not rumpled.

Okay here is the short and sweet version-- Review by John-

I am a big dude 6Foot 6Inches at 285LBS..

I was wearing Nordstorm style pants because they fit really well. The problem was that they wore really bad at the cuff.

I initially ordered these in the non pleated style, and returned them (AMAZON AGAIN AMAZING WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE!) because the were too tight when I would sit down.

I now have had the pleated for several weeks, they are comfortable, very very soft, and NOT heavy. they are great in the heat and colder weather. I can say that having going from hot and 90degrees to cold and rainy @ 60degrees..

They also fit really well in the seat! this is a big deal, but they don't ride up your "you know what"

If you a big dude, want comfort and style. Get the pleated...Who gives a !#$% if people say "pleated are too puffy looking" these don't at all look puffy and are super comfortable, especially with the waistband that allows for a extra 1-2 inches..

A+++

Unlike some brands that sell large sizes that are just larger versions of their smaller clothes which does not properly fit, these slacks are cut and fit properly for the big and tall man. Construction is solid and the material is soft, yet durable. For "dress casual" to casual wear, these are certainly an excellent value.

I just purchased and received these so I'm only commenting on the 3 pair that I tried on.

It can be a challenge trying to find clothes for big and tall men. If I do find a store that has my size it's usually a very limited selection in both quantity and style and color. I've found this to be true on several onsite big and tall men stores as well so I was pretty happy to find these. I bought 8 pair (of various colors). As stated by others the material is soft. I especially like that the waist band stretches which gives you a relaxed fit. I just had all of the pants laundered (not dry cleaned) and all came out looking good with no ironing or pressing needed.

I bought these for my husband, I'm in the process of sending them back for a refund. They ripped really bad the first time he wore them! All across the butt part ...across not down where you would think pants might rip. I do not recomend making a mistake on these.

These pants by Savane are indeed comfortable pants and look good. The problem is with the inferior material that they use to make them. Today was the second time I wore them and the whole seat of the pants split open at the seam, while I was getting into my truck. It is not an isolated incidence either. Three months ago I bought two pair at a local mall and both pair did the same thing the 2nd or 3rd time I wore them. I saw these on line and thought I would try them one more time, thinking that the ones I had bought at the mall were from a bad run of material. I was wrong, all the material that the company is using is defective. I was wearing the proper size pants and only raising my leg to step into the driver seat of my truck, which is a very level step. My truck seat height is very easy to sit in. Do not buy these pants!!!

I like these pants, but they tend to be cut a bit in the low waist style. If you're high waisted, you'll find yourself trying to pull them up all the time. They are very comfortable to wear and except for the one item above, I very glad I brought them.

I washed these once and am now wearing them for the first time, and I notice there are reddish streaks along the creases on the front. So it looks like the dye is failing or something. A shame, because they seem otherwise well-made, they fit well (I also own a pair of the non-pleated ones, and those do NOT fit well) and are comfortable. I obviously haven't had them long enough to test other aspects of durability, but I can't wear them to the office looking like this.

I bought two pairs of these pants so I could have them for work. I hadn't had to wear slacks for a long time but this was a new job. I will say I think the only thing these pants would be good for is if you only needed to wear them once in a blue moon. I've had them for just over a month and one pair is unwearable because the thin material ripped straight across the seat of the pants when I was standing up. Looking at other reviews, this seems to be a common issue. The other pair is limping along right now as the cuff has torn and the seat is also starting to look iffy. After only a month of wear and washing they were starting to look worn out as well (stitching is starting to pull apart, seams are starting to fade where it rubs against chairs, the black color is already fading out). Don't be fooled by the price of these pants into thinking it's worth it for the discount. Just spend the extra ten or fifteen dollars to get a better pair and you won't regret it. Unless you just need a large addition to your rag bag after just a month.
