Poor, weak sound; uncomfortable fit
on July 18, 2010
I was pretty excited about these earphones after reading some of the raving reviews. But, I've now learned to never trust a review on speaker products unless the reviewer goes into detail about what MAKES them good... not that they're "better than this" or "cheaper than that" or "really really good".
Because none of the above praise is true. These earphones have no mid-range. An entire genre of rock/metal music is made unbearable by these phones. They're also terribad for bass. Deadmau5 sounds like garbage. The bass sounds hollow, shallow, and weak. The only type of sound these might be good for is audiobooks, or maybe Enya.
Not only is the sound quality very lackluster, but these things are just plain irritating to wear. It takes 5 seconds to put them in, because you have to shove them so far forward into your ear canal for the sound to be decent at all. Then, they feel... just bad. It feels like I've got a cue tip stuck in there. I wouldn't mind this if they were a good fit, or "noise canceled", like they claim to, but these do neither. They're easily knocked out or fall out, and then you have to go through the trouble of putting them back in again.
These suck. Whoever reviews these as good, or recommends them, knows nothing about sound quality. There's no excuse for bad sound, not for the price, and not for the look. You can get better for the money. Even Sony's Fashion earbuds are FAR superior to these.
