For around $72.00, these are just all around great boots. I tried on some $125.00 Danner's and the comfort was no different then my Magnums. Ankle support is excellent. I actually find it difficult to roll my ankle in these boots. I do a lot of walking on various terrains here in Iraq and my Magnums have handled them all with no problems. There was no "break-in" period required. These boots were ready for work right out of the box. My only complaint is for a lack of speed laces. So far I haven't had a real need for them though. If you are looking for a great boot but don't want to spend a ton of money, look no further. These boots are probably the best boot you will find at this price.
*UPDATE*
I've had these boots for almost 8 months now and they are as good as new. I can walk around for hours and have no pain in my feet. I haven't rolled ankle yet! The wide sole at the heal makes it almost impossible to role your ankle. The constrution is holding together perfectly; the soles aren't peeling away, the stitching is still in tact. The only issue I had is with the laces, they broke after about 4 months but that was an easy fix with some new speed laces. I would recommend these boots to anyone.

This is a boot you really have to try on in the store... I ordered these for my BF and he takes a 9.5 regular width. Unfortunatly this boot was a size too big (the width was good though). Also note that you will be charged a return shipping fee even if you buy with Amazon Prime.

After "breaking" the heel and the stiffness of the boots, the fit is awesome. They perform pretty well on almost every urban terrain and in the woods. I haven't tested them near water though (just shallow rain).

I've only had these boots for a few months now, but I have worn them out in rough situations and they have held up great. I trudge through abandoned buildings as a hobby and these have come with me 4 times now into some of the scummiest and dirtiest locations. They have plowed through snow, rain, puddles, mud, asbestos piles and second story windows. Held up tough, extremely light and breathable. I feel like I am wearing sneakers.

Only word of advice is to possibly order a half size smaller than you usually wear, they run a tad big.

I'd definitely order a second pair once I completely destroy these ones, which shouldn't be for a few more years.

The boots give the appearance, feel, and use of good service boots. But sadly they are not of service ready quality. After three full eight hour days of hiking steep terrain, running 100 yard dashes, and impacting small 6'' foot drops in my local airsoft field, the boots began to corrode, peel, and simply tear. It seems that the heel region of the boot is reenforced with a long thin plastic like "plate" that ran from the top of the sole to halfway up the boot. This plastic is what keeps the boots very rigid at stiff, so much in fact that when one would point their toes in a backward like fashion, the resistance from the plate is strong enough to tear through the fabric that surrounded it.

The boots seemed to hold their own for the short time, but couldn't take 3 days of intense use. I doubt they could survive 6 months of casual walking, yet alone 6 months in a service environment. Long story short, you are getting what you paid for.

As the heading states: Best Tactical I've Worn! Comfortable, light-weight, easy to slip on and off and well made, what more do you need from a boot?

I work in law enforcement and spend plenty of time on my feet and find these comfortable throughout the entire shift.

I wanted a tactical boot without a side zipper as I consider it a weak point and the first point likely to fail in time, however not having the side zip can make the boot difficult to get on and off. I've had not trouble getting these on and off, all that's needed to slack off the first few rows of laces and off/on they go. There is a cut-away at the top back of the boot which I think contributes to this.

I've found a boot I'm very happy with in the Magnum Men's Response II 8" and I will continue to wear this model for the rest of my career.

Absolutely amazing product. These boots are so sick, I tried them on and they fit perfect. They run a little big according to another review and that was correct because I wear an 11 so I ordered a 10.5 and it fits perfect. I bought theses boots for Paintball and hiking and they work great. All the protection of a Boot with the feeling of a gym shoe. A+++

For around 70 bucks this is probably the best boot possible. They are Very comfortable,Very well made, Durable, and have good support. These keep your feet cool in the summer and with thick socks warm in the winter. The only issue was that they run a bit big but it is not a big deal. The tan colored boot are also stylish. Definitely would recommend.

Just adding to the review. its been close to a year now. I have used these in snow. in blazing heat, camping, and hiking and They still are as comfortable as the day I bought them. All you need is some type of suede cleaner a bit tough to clean but still worth it.

My husband and I both got a pair of these boots after Christmas. Within three weeks, his started to fall apart. The stitching on the toes have come out and the seam on the back has completely split. The rubber sole has stayed intact with daily wear and work. They are very wide, and that is a good thing for my husbands feet. He has a hard time finding boots wide enough. My boots have been worn about two weeks total for construction on the border and have been we worn, although the stitching is coming out on the toe as well.

I have not contacted Magnum yet to be able to say whether or not they would replace the boot. So I can't really comment on the company, only the boot. I'd suggest buying a different boot if you are going to wear them for actual work and walking.

These boots look great and are very comfortable, but durable they are not. I find it hard to believe that some servicemen claim these lasted 2 years in Afghanistan when I had 2 pairs and in less than a week the sole was shredded and in 2 months they were split and completely worn down and that was just from trail work in the Grand Canyon. For light occasional use I'm sure they are good but for serious hikers and for work I would not recommend at all. Try Danners best desert boot I have had so far.
