I bought this device for three reasons:

1. I wanted something that was simple to use. I've got a Canon 5D Mark II with L lenses, so I can take uber-high quality 1080P video when I want to. However, I wanted something that my wife, mom, and maybe someday my kids could use. All you need to do is push a button to turn it on, and push another button to start recording. Piece o' cake.

2. I wanted something portable. I can stick this thing in my pocket. Can't do that with the DSLR.

3. I wanted something cheap. I got mine on sale for about $50.

The quality of the video is pretty good. Not as good as my DSLR, but considerably better than my non-HD point-and-shoot camera. The metering doesn't adjust quite as fast as I'd like it to (low-light video doesn't look so hot, and bright backgrounds will look pretty bad too) but overall I'm very happy with my purchase. It's perfect for home video of the family.

I was looking around on amazon for a video camera that I could use for HD video. Yes, I have cameras that take great video as well, but I was looking for one with a specific purpose of taking video. When I found this camera, I read all of the reviews, and I was debating with myself to either save up a few more bucks and buy an e-reader, or buy this camera. I decided to buy this camera, and ordered.

I got free shipping, and it came in about a weeks time (not bad for free). The box, although it's a b-stock, was in almost perfect condition, with only the slightest nick on the corner of it. The item was in great condition. It comes with not only the camera, but a cover for it to protect it from falls, and it comes with a USB extender, since it's attached to the camera.

I tried out the quality automatically, and at first I was really impressed! On the 2" screen, the video looks and sounds great for the price. But whenever I uploaded the video onto my computer, I was SO DISAPPOINTED! The files are AVI, which would be okay if any other video editing software besides the one that comes with the camera was compatible with AVI. And the quality and playback is awful once uploaded to the computer. It lagged a lot, and was so grainy!

As an earlier review had said, I tried to simply convert the file into mp4. But for some reason no matter what software I use, it doesn't really work. I'm so disappointed with this product.

The only reason I'm giving two stars was because it came in good condition, shipping was fairly fast, and the video looked great on the actual camera....

EDIT:::
I'm changing my two starts to four stars because the seller was very good about refunds.... I got my refund in about a week after I sent the item back, and I was also paid for the shipping. Good seller... Just not so good product.

The camera was great for a few months, than it started not turning on and would turn off after only 5 minutes of continuous use. If I pulled the battery out and then put it back in, it seemed to be okay for a while. But now, after less than four months, it's a struggle to even get it to turn on. Great price. Bought two, and they both have the same problems now.

I bought this for my daughter for Chirstmas while I was away. This is what she wanted so she was very excited. She slowly was disappointed because it would never charge.

I buy this little camcorder as a birthday gift for my nephew, he like it very much. I saw the footage he made, it looks pretty good!

Bought 4 VADO HD cameras from Neuron Electronics seller. None of them worked. They would not charge. Other reviews commented on problems with these cameras, so there is probably a bad batch out there. The blame must partly be the manufacturer even if they sold these cameras as defective surplus to Neuron. The cameras came in original packing, so Neuron must have gotten them intact from Creative. If so, shame on Creative. The bigger issue is whether Neuron Electronics knew they were defective. The even bigger issue is whether Amazon knew whether or not Neuron has a track record of selling defective products like this.

This was a gift, so I didn't know until after the person I gave it to tried to use it, that it didn't work. I purchased a black one as well, that did work. Apparently the battery is bad. This was a huge disappointment to the child who received it, and was basically out a present for Christmas.

We bought this before every smart phone came with video, so I don't know if it's worth buying a device like this anymore. But we did buy this and it worked flawlessly and still does. The only negative is over the years the battery doesn't hold a charge very long. (I think the battery is accessible and replaceable.)
