Quick Summary:
Pros: The shoes are very comfortable, have excellent grip on the tread, and make a very good looking, if bold, statement. They are very breathable to keep your feet from getting too hot, sweaty, and smelly.

Con: The shoes are so breathable, they can actually be a little cold in the winter months. They also are not very adept at keeping out rain or snow, but in all fairness they are running shoes, not hiking boots.

Details:
I'm no shoe connoisseur, but I realized I needed to buy a new pair of sneakers when my old ones began to fall apart. I looked in a number of physical stores for something I liked (I like to be able to touch or try on shoes and clothes before buying them, as a picture only tells you so much) and had very little luck. At an Academy I happened to see the profile of these running shoes on the shelf, and I was immediately in love. I normally like very simple, understated styles, but the bright green tubes on the black sole, and the grey-to-white fade on the cloth/mesh parts of the shoe really caught my eye. Green and black are, after all, my favorite colors.

I tried the shoes on, and they fit very well. There's more arch support than there appears to be from just looking at the shoe, and the mesh uppers make them *very* breathable. I decided not to get them that day, as I was still a little unsure about buying such a brightly colored pair of shoes, but trips to other shoe stores only further convinced me that these were the shoes I would be happiest with. I was unable to return to the Academy I tried them out at, so I purchased them through Amazon. They arrived quickly, and are as great as I remember.

I've had the shoes for a few weeks now, and have found very little fault with them. The mesh makes them very breathable, and thus a little cold for winter, as well as not very good for keeping out water or snow. Since they are running shoes, however, this is hardly a fault. I'm frequently surprised at how "grippy" the soles feel compared to other sneakers I've had, which is great when running or walking on uneven terrain.

Yes, I admit it. I bought these because of the Kenny Powers ads. They're also pretty stylish, affordable, and they felt like a cloud in the store. Easily the plushest and most luxurious-feeling athletic shoe I've ever worn. It's unbelievably comfortable around the ankle area - all shoes should feel like this.

Then why only three stars? Because I can't run in these things even though they have the word "Run" in them! As some of the other reviewers pointed out, the arch support borders on EXTREME(I feel like they're basically tipping my feet onto their outside edges), and if I try to run in these I get knee/shin pain almost instantly. Walking is fine, standing is fine, but running feels about as painful and as awkward as I imagine running in dress shoes would be. It could be my specific gait or running form, since some other people here have run marathons in these, but I just can't wholeheartedly recommend them.

My advice is: Try them out and see if they work with your running style first. If they do, enjoy the compliments and get used to strangers coming up to you talking about Kenny Powers!

I have two pairs of the K-Swiss Tubes 100 and I'm running 70 miles per week in them with no issues. I weigh 167 lbs. and I'm 5'11." I'm not sure if the other negative reviews are genuine since I run very heavy mileage on lots of different surfaces and haven't had any issues with support or the shoe wearing out early. Perhaps the other reviewers have substantially different biomechanics, or perhaps they are running more miles than me. I'm not sure what would account for the difference. All together I've run more than 200 miles in these shoes and I would recommend them to all runners without hesitation. That said, I also like the K-Swiss blade light as a light weight trainer and racing shoe.

well lets just say i got these shoes because of KENNY POWERS! i know really dumb, but come on, he is freaking awesome!! I purchased these before labor day so i knew the shipping would be slower than usual. I am a really big shopper on amazon and I have never really had a problem before. I was really looking for to getting these shoes. (Kenny Powers in training) They can in and i wasn't really happy. Let's just say the packing was not up to par and it must have been packed by someone looking forward to the weekend.

But I sent in my concerns about the order, here is where it gets good, SPORTSTOWN, e mails me in less than 20 minutes wanting to fix the problem. Who does that these days!! I couldn't believe it, the way these people handled the matter in quick and professional service! So future buyers, SPORTSTOWN is the place to buy from. Happy with the shoes now and even excited about buying things from Amazon. Customer SERVICE is lost in most places today but I would pay a little extra for service like that!!!

Shoes- Come on, If Kenny Powers Likes them, how could you not!! Tubes are great, people see Air Maxes and Zigtechs all day everyday, but TUBES, people take another look. They Have heard of them but guess who is wearing them, YOU! I love having thing no one in my town has, one reason why i shop with Amazon.

Wearing wise, yes will wear pretty quick, but are super comfortable and very lightweight. There is a spring in your step, and the colors are sick.

-Good ventilation
-EXCELLENT CUSHION
-Stylish
-Lightweight

I supinate and use these as short 5-10k distance racing shoes. I have a sub 20 minute 5k time and will frequently use these as my racing shoes due to their cushion and ventilation.

I train in Asics due to weight, my supination and mileage. I wear through Asics shoes in about 3-4 months. AT $100-150 a pair, this is a refreshing alternative.

I also have run in these sockless as I dabble in triathlon and they hold up just fine.

The price is CHEAP too.

The best shoes I've ever bought! They're light weight, easy on the feet and even a little stylish. My running has improved tremendously and I no longer have shin pains after a really long run. I highly recommend this product! I bought it off of Amazon because all of the shoe stores in my area fail and don't carry this!

I have long suffered from shin splints. Have been a long time runner wannabe and was envious of people who could run with such ease. I had read and heard that your shoes do matter. Never believed it for a long time and kept on going with my usual "sneakers" to run.

Before these shoes my cardio workouts used to go like this -

Do a stretching routine of calves and shins for about 5 minutes. Start on the treadmill at a moderate pace of 5.5 miles per hour. About the 6th minute the front part of the legs a.k.a shins would start to tighten up. By the 8th minute it would begin to hurt and I would either stop or persevere to get to the 12 minute mark where I would atleast complete 1 mile. After stopping, the shins were really hard to touch (inflamed) and paining. I would then stretch them out for about 10 minutes. Usually the pain would subside in 10-15 minutes. Would repeat another 12 minute mile with the same result to get 2 miles in (with a break). Discouraged by the experience, I would do the elliptical instead.

I ordered these shoes this week after reading somewhere that they helped with shin splints. Put them on and did my usual stretching. Here is how I did on my "first" day with these:

- The shoes immediately felt light on the feet and the grip at the bottom felt great
- Started running at my usual 5.5 miles per hour and braced myself for the pain to start at the 6th minute mark
- There was no sign of pain or tightening in my shins
- Felt great going into the 12th minute mark and completed 1 mile with ease
- Decided to not stop till the shin pain returned
- Kept going...
- and going...
- and going...
- and going...
- Completed 4 miles !!! -- Non stop

This is the first time in my life I have done 4 miles non-stop. You have no idea what a big deal this is for me... :-)

I wish I could give these shoes 10 stars....

Highly recommend these shoes for anyone who is or wants to be a runner.

These are my second pair of tubes and like my first these feel amazing on my feet. I spent the first week with them at Disney World and they felt like I was walking on air. I am a runner and with these shoes my feet felt awesome especially after walking around chasing kids for hours. Best buy ever.

I am no runner just the average Joe with sweaty feet. These are awesome because they are so breathable in allowing air to get to your feet. No need for Odor Eaters so far. Very comfortable and provide excellent traction for boating where traction can get treacherous. No marring of the boats surface finish either. Highly recommended as a multi-use sneaker. Just might want to put them aside for the winter season.
