After two months of careful use, the phone froze up and would not re-boot. I returned it for repair assuming they would make good but told me that even though there was internal damage for which I may not be responsible, they would not repair it because it was "physical damage" and was not covered under warranty. I couldn't believe it and sent it back in for another opinion and a phone call with customer service. They could have told me anything because I can't see inside the phone and understand what they are talking about -- "an internal shield was bent" -- and worst of all, they admitted that it might not have been my fault. No repair or replacement. They lost a customer for good and anyone else I can convince to go to Samsung Infuse which has better battery life, display, keyboard and durability.

I've had this phone since 2011. The phone randomly reboots daily, often multiple times a day, for no apparent reason. I can't make sense of it. It will reboot while it's just sitting there with a dark screen, in standby. Or, it will reboot while I'm using it. The phone did not start to reboot until I owned it for about six months. Motorola support is non-existent. They seem to be unaware of a problem, yet, check out any message board and the reboot problems are well documented. But if I send it in with $100, they will repair it, of course. I strongly believe the reboot problem is a component or software flaw. My son also bought an Atrix at the same time and his randomly reboots as well.
I'd like to support Motorola by purchasing their products but this ruins their reputation for me.

i was looking for a good unlocked smartphone (I live in Brazil) that runs Android and with a reasonable price (below 300 USD) and i guess i found it.
This is my second smartphone (the first one i got was a Motorola Milestone), and i've been using it for 1 month now. So far, i'm really impressed: it's really fast (it responds very quickly to our commands, apps open almost immediately) and stable (no reboots, no hangs -- things that i was used to with my old Milestone). The Android version is also really cool (with some noticeable improvements over the 2.1 version), looking forward to upgrading to ICS version. Couldn't make the fingerprint scanner work, though, but i dont miss it. All in all, i'm very satisfied.

AT&T and Moto need to update the phone to Android 2.3 or better yet, 2.4 and enable full HSUPA.

Right now, Android 2.2.1 barely supports the dual core CPU, many apps cannot even see both cores let alone use them.

No HSUPA means slow upload (less than 300Kbps) and download speeds. This means NO 4G service at all.
Don't let the little H+ icon fool you. It barely does 3G speeds.

The fit and finish on the phone is great and MotoBlur isn't too shabby.
Could use a facelift though.

Would I recommend this to others, not right now.
If AT&T and Motorola resolve the issues mentioned, this phone will be a beast.

I've had this phone for a week, I think it is amazing. It has extremely good design, is light and compact unlike most of the smartphones in its class. It does everything an iphone does. applications for android are great and there is huge selection. touch screen works perfect. the fingerprint scanner is extremely useful and works perfectly. I think this phone deserves five stars, at least in the short term. with all that said, it does seem extremely fragile and i am worried about how long this phone is going to last. the touch screen seems like it may not last for the long run. but that might just be me. overall great phone so far and definitely a potential iphone killer.

The only thing downside of this phone is MotoBlur.

It's supposed to be a skin or a launcher that helps managing your SNS life.

But it simply doesn't work!!

Other than that, with Launcher Pro working as the launcher, this phone is great.

Calling and receiving calls is whole lot better than an iPhone.

It's got enough power to be as snappy as any latest phones.

The best part of this smartphone is that it's got a huge 1900mah battery that outlasts any other smartphone you can think of.
Now with the Gingerbread upgrade, if you use it as a feature-phone, it'll last weeks.

Display is not the best and the prettiest you can get nowadays, but it does the job.

Have the Motorola Atrix 4G since February 2012. Everything works great for awhile, then about 3 weeks ago, some areas of the touch screen do not respond to touch anymore. Reset everything to factory defaults and the problem remains.

It's very frustrating when you text/email when some letters cannot be typed since no response to touch in those areas. Equally bad when you try to open some apps and the touch does not respond. Searched different internet forums for reasons/solutions and found out that my problem is not uncommon.

Plan to take it back to the AT&T store and see if they can help. Wish me luck.

The phone has been very problematic. It randomly turns itself off at least twice a day, every single day. AT&T said, "Sorry, we can't help you because you bought it at Amazon Wireless." Amazon Wireless said, "Sorry, we can't help you because it's past 30 days from the purchase date." Finally, Motorola is being helpful. But, I have to mail them my phone and be without it for who knows how long. I'm on hold with them now. This is the last time I buy a phone from Amazon Wireless.
