I feel compelled to review this since there are so few reviews out there for this. Right off the bat, this is a very good looking laptop. My co-worker asked what I was doing purchasing another 1000$ laptop - little does he know what the true cost was. Anyway, outside of the great looks (it is covered in a copper colored metal on the lid and on the inside), I am impressed with the speakers -- nice sound for speakers (their higher lines have nicer speakers than these even). The A4 processor is able to play some basic games, and it has had no problem running HD video or Netflix). Machine is quiet, and I think I am getting about 2-3 hours playing video disconnected from an AC cord. Nice keyboard (as expected), very nice soft touch power/media buttons (back lit). Ok display - hard to compare to a MBP. Very quiet machine, so far runs very cool, and the fan, when running is largely silent. I have owned many, many laptops over the years, and $ for $, I have to say this is the best one I have had (and the least expensive that I have ever purchased - acknowledging that laptop and technology prices are very low right now). This laptop is not for gaming (as I knew), but beyond that, I can't see it having any issues with anything that I throw at it). I highly recommend it.

I considered a few computers before settling on this one - I was ready to get an Acer for $30 more than this one but my son-in-law, who's a professional computer guy, told me to stick with the Sony Vaio I'd been looking at or to consider Asus or Lenovo, both of which he'd come to respect. I did a little more looking and decided this Lenovo was the best choice - great specs, positive owner reviews and the totally subjective stuff like it looks great and I'm a sucker for 21st century features like facial recognition instead of a password for login. Setup was quick and easy and from what I've seen so far it's got it all going on. The visuals are great, the sound from the speakers is adequate and really, who cares since it's gonna be coming through some nice headphones or the surround system when I plug the HDMI cord into my TV. I immediately uninstalled the McAfee or whateveritwas security system and downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials which had kept my last laptop free of problems and cost nothing. The Amazon price was $40 - 50 lower than anywhere else, it was delivered in just a couple of days and the only recommendation I can make for an accessory is a cooling lap pad - it will be not only more comfortable but will also make the computer last way longer. I'd recommend this computer to my friends and anyone else who'd listen.

I've been very happy with this Lenovo. I actually bought this to replace a 6 year old Lenovo/IBM Thinkpad, and felt I should give them another try. Once again quite pleased. Feels durable and makes good use of the space with its full sized keyboard. I can easily play/output 1080p content via HDMI, and the battery lasts a good little while if you turn the screen brightness down. I use a macbook pro for work, and I feel that this $500 Lenovo outperforms the MBP doing a number of tasks. But primarily for what I need, this is the right laptop at the right price. Gaming, 1080p video, nice keyboard. Great overall.

I bought 3 of these machines last year for Christmas. 2 were for my kids and 1 for my nephew. I had to send in 1 machine to be repaired after 9 months for keyboard failure (to Levono's credit - they repaired under warranty). I just sent another machine in after 11 months for monitor/display failure. They did not want to fix this machine under warranty. I explained that we saw the display "pop" internally and it now has streaks everywhere rendering the machine useless without an external monitor. They didn't care, that was their policy to not warranty display issues. My nephew now has a problem with his laptop and will show it to me when he visits this Christamas. Save your money and DO NOT buy these cheap machines. I am regretting the day I purchased these laptops for $500/each.

Well what to say, this is a masterpiece from lenovo. Best value for money. Snappy A8 Processor, 6 Gigs of RAM, 500 GB HDD (Fast enough), 15.6 inches bright display and AMD 6620M APU (APU = 1 Dedicated GPU + CPU also helps in graphics processing). The Speakers are a Bliss! The best speakers in any laptop ever. Extra Crisp, very wide sound propagation, truly immersive audio. The keyboard is a bit pain though.. They keys on the right of the keyboard (includes backspace, shift, arrow keys, right ctrl) are compressed, making it a bit uneasy. Battery life is average (2.5 hrs if you are lucky). Laptop is a bit heavy too. But its okay I am not going to grade down for that.

My HP finally quit on me, and this had been on my wishlist for quite some time. Can I say I love it after owning it for 4 days? The screen quality is good. Its fast, its got great battery life, and its cute. I only use it as a home computer for the kiddo's home schooling and editing some photography - so nothing too intense. I'll edit this after I've owned it for a month or so.

The laptop is great. Specs meet my expectations. It is a little heavy, but to be expected with the moniter size, I guess. The only thing that sucks is that battery that came with the laptop seems to be already worn out. I can get maybe two hours of life out of it. Sometimes less depending on what I'm using it for. I just wish that for once, I could get a battery that lasted as long as advertised.

Working really well so far after about a month of use, no issues to report other than that start up is a little bit slow. I love the look of this laptop, it's very sleek, solid and the keyboard is great.. especially because it has a number pad. It's already outperforming and outlasting the Acer that I had previously (I will never buy another Acer.. screen flickered and broke within a month of owning). I read up a little bit on laptops and Lenovo seems to be one of the more reliable brands so I'm hoping that's the truth. For price it is a great buy and is much better quality than a lot of the cheap HPs and Acers out there.

After several hours of researching a cheap gaming laptop, I found this one. No complaints. Plays Heroes of Newerth on medium graphics, runs all adobe/office programs. Can't wait to test if it will run Diablo 3. If you can get your hands on one, its worth it.
