Husband bought this for me from Amazon (Prime)so I could keep up my NY's resolution to walk. Ordered Mon; rec'd Wed. Exquisitely made; looks beautiful on. Exceptionally warm. Just finished morning walk. Temp is 29 degrees with a brisk N wind, so windchill is in single digits. Hood snugs up to the face and stays put even when walking into a head wind. Inner vest zips tight and adds core warmth. Coat zips and snaps. Zippers work very well. Zippers are usually frustrating for me, but these go together smoothly and zip cleanly. I was covered nose-to-toes. Only ankles, face and hands were cold. Put hands in pockets and no more cold hands. Even buttoned to the bottom, coat has enough room for walking. Husband ordered a medium. It is snug but it zips without any problem, and I am a size 12. Larger would have been nice, but was not avail in L. Has knit cuffs inside coat cuffs to keep cold wind from going up sleeves. A lot of nice touches. It is just very well designed and made. A fabulous bargain. I love it and can whole-heartedly recommend it. I simply could not be more pleased with it. Esp at this price!

I wore the coat for the first time tonight--35 degrees with a wind off the Hudson River. When I first put it on, was impressed with the zip-up vest (not down), and then the zip-up coat itself on top of that. The nice cuffs and warm neck--none of them down-filled , just seemed like icing on the cake.

Then I walked outside with my dog and after I had walked for a while, I zipped up the collar all the way and pulled up the hood. By the time I got home, I was not warm--the way I had been on the same kind of walk with the old down coat that I was replacing. I am thinking that the vest, cuffs and warm neck are all camouflage for the fact that there is not too much down in the coat itself.

It's hard to place a number of stars on the coat because it's long, the neck is high and the cuffs are long. It just might do if you can fit a very warm long sweater inside it. So, if you like it, I'd go up a size and do just that. It's well-priced and looks fine--just not too much down inside.

I love everything about this coat. The sizing I found to be true for a down coat. Bought a size M, am a 6 or 8 in everyday clothing, I find that a M is usually perfect for me in Winter coats, this one is. It's slightly fitted, so I don't look too much like an evil marshmallow person, comes right above my ankles (I'm 5'6") and I wanted a long coat to keep out the Boston chills as I walk to the train every morning. I am an urban commuter and have been burned by several down coats. I find they are made for fashion not warmth and function. The coat is very warm, zippers and finishing seem solid. I love the inner vest and the knitted cuffs. Pockets are easy to get into, there is even an outside upper pocket and an inner pocket. The stand up "dramatic" collar is awesome as well. The hood, however, is HUGE. I'm trying to figure out how to configure it to keep it on my head during a snow/wind storm without it blowing off or covering my face entirely, (Not a good thing to have going on while walkng in city traffic.) I would love to sit down with todays coat designers to ask them whose head they are using to design the size/shape of hoods. Every single coat I have tried on has the same issue! (As far as I know I have an average size head.) I love everything else about this coat, so I plan on keeping it, huge hood and all. Nothing I have seen comes close to it. especially for this price.

Please note that this coat does run small, especially in the upper portion. Based on other reviews, I decided to order the next largest size. I am glad I did. Even with this step, however, the coat was almost "form fitting" from the waist area up through the chest, back, and arms. My coat did have a small hole in the lining of one of the pockets, which I will be able to sew. This should have been noticed during a quality control inspection. The coat itself is warm and I am confident it will be helpful during the winter months here in Canada. While this is not my warmest winter coat, it is more stylish, while still providing a lot of warmth and protection. For people who do not live in the Northern part of Canada, I am sure this coat would be more than adequate. I like the built in vest and large collar, along with the hood, which is able to be cinched over the collar. This further helps to protect against the wind and snow. I would definitely recommend going up in size when ordering this coat. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and I would recommend this coat to others.

This coat is even more beautiful than the photograph. And it has a really clever inner zipped up vest kind of thing and pockets up the wazoo. Clever inside pocket inside the coat AND another one in the coat but outside the inner zipped up big. Also the hood zips on, rather than those annoying buttons which keep coming off. It looks really elegant and I love it. EXCEPT it is gigantic. I am 5 foot 9 and a size 8 and I am swimming in it. I bought it last minute for a trip to Siberia and I am there now. It is 25 degrees BELOW freezing and outside in my coat walking around for 15 minutes, I was toasty warm with only a teeshirt underneath. Indoors it is pretty boiling so I am so glad I exchanged the large for a SMALL because I don't think I could wear it with big sweaters -- too warm. There is a sizing chart on their website but the suggested size for the suggested measurements, completely wrong. So go by the size on the top, above the measurements. There I see the Large is a 10-12. I got the Small which is great (a 4-6) even though my measurements are bigger than they say. But medium would probably have been perfect (they didn't have in stock).

Just recieved this coat today and so happy. It is like 2 coats in one. It has vest like feature inside so if you choose you can zip it up and leave the coat open to keep upper body warm. Also has a sweater material that covers the neck and inside the sleeves so wind isn't coming in anywhere. I got a large and it works for me. Very stylish and kind of a dramatic look with the sweater on the neck and the hood behind it. I am very satisfied.

After months of searching for a LONG, warm and stylish down coat, I finally found it! From my experience, it does not run small as some other reviews indicated. I think the hardest part of online buying is selecting the right size. I am 5'5'', 110 lbs. and found the small to fit perfectly without wearing a heavy blazer under it (although I could, it felt a bit snug). I settled for the medium so I could wear a suit or sweater comfortably under it when needed. The inner vest was roomy in both the S or M. My only design suggestion is to make the inner vest so it can be removed on warmer days. Would also love more colors (wanted a white one) This coat is very well made and I can't wait for some cold days(which I normally hate!). Highly recommend it!

this coat exceeded my expectations, very satisfied! For me it is perfect. Love everything about! I ordered this coat in extra large, because I wanted it loose and Maxi Long. Northeast Ohio winters are brutal, and I am cozy and warm in this one. It has nice tailoring, so even though its large, it doesn't look oversized. It was costly, but worth every penney. I just hope the quality holds up and I get alot of years out of it. I could be in a room full of women wearing mink coats and feel great wearing this coat. It's January 2, 2014, too much snow to drive, temperature in the teens. Walked a block to the store. I'm not fond of winter, or fond on walking! but in this coat I was so warm and comfortable(SNUG AS A BUG) I wore this coat new years eve and it was frigid cold, but it was 70 degrees in this coat.

The coat is beautiful and is of high quality. I love how long it is compared with most others that end around your knees. The only issue for me was that the sleeves are on the short side! I am tall but I usually don't have problems with sleeve length. I didn't want to send it back because I liked it otherwise. I took it to the altering service - and the good news is: the manufacturer left enough material in there to make the sleeves longer.

I found exactly same coat at Sears.com for $200. It seemed too much to pay so I googl'd it and that's how I found it from Amazon. I had it for only a few days, but so far I love this coat.
Pro:
1. warm! 90% down, 10% feather
2. length: I'm 5'4" and it comes right above my ankle!
3. appearance: it's heavy coat, but I don't look too boxy!
4. Pockets: I love inside pockets and this coat has two inside zipped pockets! I really like the fact that the hand pockets have soft linings. They keep my hands nice and warm.

Cons:
1. I'm not sure why they have two zippers...
2. The zipper is not the same length as coat length. It zips only from neck to waist line and below waist is just buttons. Well, I think it's good and bad.. I walk better without zippers but I wonder I would get cold when it's windy.
