I like these socks for my little guy. My only objection is that the S-M-L sizing doesn't really tell you what to order. The small was the right size from 6m-12m, the medium fits him from 12-24 months. He probably won't wear the large until he's at least 2 (I have ordered all three sizes).

According to FOL, the sizing for toddler socks is: S (shoe size: 1.5-4), M (shoe size: 4-8.5), L(shoe size:7.5-11). I had purchased these socks from a different store which has discontinued them and was pleasantly surprised at how well they held up. My little guy wears a size 8 shoe and fits the large pretty nicely: comfy and snug, but can easily stretch a bit more for growth. They do shrink in the wash a bit, but I have found that all products 100% cotton do anyway. I think that perhaps FOL crews are harder to find now--they seem to be replaced by low cut and ankle, which don't work as well with my son's cowboy boots.

I bought these socks specifically so I wouldn't have to worry about matching, but when they came in they were all different colors (white socks with blue, red, black, etc bottoms). I don't care enough to return them... they are socks and will serve their purpose. But they were not the color advertised here.
Also, the packaging clearly states that "Large" is for 3-5 years... that info would be helpful on the listing.

I got tired of chasing down tiny spare socks, so I got rid of all my son's mismatched pairs and just bought a pack of these. They're very sturdy and thick enough to be comfortable, but not thick enough to make shoes fit wrong.

Our daughter has a shoe size 5.5. The medium size fits her great. They will stretch a little bit more as her foot grows. I would not recommend these socks for summer as they are warm. They are great for fall, winter (with warm shoes) and spring. I love having six pairs and not to look for matching socks all the time as I did in the past. I usually do laundry every five days so I have enough. I plan to buy large size for the next year.

I was very disappointed to receive this item and find that all the socks were grey on bottom instead of like in the picture. How boring is that? They should change the picture of this item to include only grey socks and say in the description that they are only grey if that is what people are receiving.

Nowhere in the title nor in the description of the ones I ordered did it state that these were BOYS socks. It simply said toddler. I read and re-read to be sure. When I received them, the package clearly says BOYS with a picture of a boy on the package. Since I was buying them for my granddaughter to wear with her boots, I was disappointed. I went back and re-read everything in the ad, and as of the date I received them, they still did not say BOYS anywhere. Hopefully they will correct this for future buyers. When I clicked to write a review of these socks, the title adds "Boys 2-7". But in the picture, title and description when purchasing, that information was missing. And it's when you are purchasing that you need the information, not when you get the socks and go to write a review.
SECOND: I purchased Fruit of the Loom Toddler 6 pack Crew Sock, ASSORTED COLOR, Medium. I did NOT get assorted colors. I expected to get six pairs of assorted color socks AS SHOWN. Instead, they were ALL white with grey soles. The description should clearly state "You may receive all one color, and it may be gray." Or, if ALL the packs contain only one color, it should say "All six pairs will be one color, and will be any one of the colors shown." Because I was buying these for a girl, I was
definitely looking forward to COLORS, especially the TWO PAIRS of red shown in the picture. Definitely not all gray. Another disappointment.
THIRD: THE PACKAGE ITSELF tells you that Medium is for Shoe sizes 4 to 8 1/2. When you clicked on the sizing chart in the description on the website, at least as of December 2014, all it tells you is AGE, height and weight of child. What good is that information for buying shoes or socks? One child who is 31 inches tall and weighs 25 pounds may have a totally different FOOT size than another child of the same height and weight. And further, it STILL doesn't tell you whether to order size Small, Medium or Large socks for that height, weight and age child. A very useless size chart on the website. It should simply tell you what SHOE sizes the socks are appropriate for. The PACKAGE itself gives this information, but that doesn't help you when you are trying to decide which size to order and you can't see the information that is on the package. The Size Chart on the amazon website needs to provide this information and hopefully they will correct it.
I have downgraded them to 4 stars, because of the above 3 issues.
Personally, I believe Medium might be a bit too big and bulky, too long, for a size 4 shoe, but I have to remember they are referring to a BOYS size 4 shoe and I have a girl. Before worn, they measure 4 3/4 inches long from tip of toe to back of sock at heel. After washing once, they measured barely 4 1/2 inches from tip of toe to back of sock at heel. They have a lot of stretch, COMFORTABLY/easily stretching to 6 inches. So, compare that to a pair of socks you have that fit the way your child likes, to decide if this fits your needs. Can you stretch them further? Yes. I stretched them up to 8" and could have forced them even further. But I personally don't like my socks stretched too far as they then put too much pressure on my toes, so I don't buy them for others requiring them to stretch TOO far.
I gave them to my 28 month old granddaughter even though they are boys socks. She weighs 25 lb. and wears size 5.5 GIRLS sneakers. They seem to fit her fine and she should be able to wear them for
quite a while, based on the amount of stretch still available in them.
The socks are made in China, unfortunately, but they appear to be well made, with a respectable amount of thickness. For the price, I consider them a good buy. Hopefully the elastic will hold up well and they will hold their shape.

I bought these because of the great reviews and sure enough they lived up to them. I've tried other name brand socks for my Lil guy and they either don't fit or its too tight around his calf. We live in the Rocky mountains so he needed socks that stay up but don't cut off circulation. These are super comfy and fit as needed. Toddler clothes have always been one year up for me so since he's 2 I bought the next size up. Both my boys were this way and it seems quit common in other kids as well. One bonus is these come in multi color which is fun for him learning his colors and he keeps them on finally. They're not extremely warm so they would do fine in warm climates as well. I used to live in Arizona so that's how I know. Would make great soccer socks!!!

We bought the medium sized socks, which fit my 2yo son's feet fine, but the tops of the crew socks were so tight that after only a few minutes, he was complaining about them and cried to get them off. He's never done this before with his socks. You could see the top left lines in his skin. He's a normal sized 2yo, normal sized legs/calves (if anything he's slender) so I don't know how he's the only one who has issues with these unless FOTL changed their manufacturing since other people ordered. Also, we didn't get assorted colors - we only got gray. Will try to return even though we washed before trying on since they felt soft and the size seemed good. Don't waste your $$ if you're buying these for a toddler.

These socks gave us two unexpected surprises. (1) they were incredibly well made for toddler socks. Usually kids socks are virtually disposable, seams coming out, holes, impossible to clean. These are well made, like adult socks, just smaller. Speaking of which, (2) the socks shrunk like 30% in the first wash. Luckily, they have not shrunk in subsequent washes, so it must just be that initial wash. But, if that's always the case (and it certainly applied to each pair of ours), why not make them bigger, wash/dry, THEN package them up for sale?? Strange. So, if you think the socks will fit your child, get the next size up and you'll be right.
