This boot is the best boot, that I've worn. I had all but given up boots. I wore them for 8+ hours the first day right out of the box. I wear and 81/2 slightly narrow feet and need arch support. They work without inserts, but I use them anyway. The leather weight is just right so they won't stretch out or get sloppy any time soon. But the leather is definitely not stiff and hard a problem Ive had with other boots. They fit true to size, have no tabs or seams that rub against my feet. The boot is cut so that it has some arch support and thick socks are not necessary. I will add some thin pads on days where I am doing a lot of walking. I will definitely consider this brand again
I just received these boots. They are beautiful and fit true to size. I believe they will be quite comfortable. I would only warn anyone interested in the British Burgundy color that it is not a true burgundy. It is more a lovely rich dark brown with burgundy undertones. That said...gorgeous!
I am on my second winter with these boots, and they still look wonderful. I wear them almost every day. I broke my leg a few years ago, so I don't feel comfortable anymore in really high heels, and I feel very nervous walking in winter conditions. These boots are perfect for me, because the heel isn't too high nor narrow, and the sole is slip-free! I feel very confident wearing these in ice and snow. They are also very stylish. I see that they are still available, so I will be buying another pair, so when my current pair wear out I'll have another ready to go!
Gorgeous boots. They are a bit narrow so I give them 4 stars. But I love the styling and the sole. It is hard to find the balance between a functional sole (non slip, comfortable, lightweight) and aesthetics (can't stand it when people put lug or athletic looking soles on nice boots!). Anyway, this sole strikes that balance.
These Sam-Edelman-folk do know how to make shoes that make sense and are stylish. What more can I say about that? Maybe that my feet are not as ideally shaped as they could be and with a smooth, soft leather upper like this, my toe bones or the outline of my toes often shows. These do not do that! That's a big test for me.
I got these in British Burgundy. I knew from other sites that they are not as dark as they are shown here. The color has also been called, in other times, cordovan or ox blood. Loafers used to always come in this color. It's a classic shoe color that goes with brown, black, khaki-green or khaki-beige colors, etc. But these have a modern look. I like the stitching on the back and the other details are classy.
The only thing I wish they would not do is the fake distressed toes. I have a western harness style from SE in black leather that had fake scuffed gray toes. Why? I had my shoe guy just make the toes black and match the rest of the boots, please. I am fully capable of scuffing and wrecking my own shoes and boots and certainly don't want to cough up more money to make them look like I don't take care of them! I may have him do the tips on these as well.
And I wish they made these in black leather. I'd get a pair of those too. I'd get the suede in these, but the suede that many shoes come in now doesn't wear as well as the suede of other times, even with good brands like this one. Without being able to see it before buying it, I'll go for leather instead.
I think I will get a lot of wear out of these in cooler weather and feel lucky I found them on sale in my size.
I love this boot, got it in 2 other colors (Burgundy and Caramel). Must have checked out over 500 booties online before I found this one. Can wear all day with comfort, can walk everywhere, rubber bottom doesn't skid. It doesn't make "clack-clack-clack" sound when walking, which is good because I am a gallerista and want to be as undistracting as possible from the art. I got the 8 1/2 to make sure there was plenty of toe room, and there is. Easy to get on and off with side zipper. Goes with mid-length skirts and all kinds of pants, from dress up to denims.
I've always found Sam Edelman to run a little snug - but this is not the case. If anything, I have room in my size 11 shoes, which rarely happens. Have been putting miles on these boots around town and they are incredibly comfortable. They were great right out of the box. I highly recommend them.
