I have always wanted to travel abroad on vacation but never could settle on where to go. Either there was a language barrier or my family simply wasn't interested in any options my husband and I suggested. After reading this book, I'm completely sold! I had no idea there was so much entertainment, rich history, and events to partake of in London! The Royal Opera House, the shopping, various festivals, sporting events, the shopping, jazz, the shopping, Thames Barrier, etc. is not even one percent of what is available. Did I mention the lucsious shopping?

The special thing about this book is that it provides you with a detailed guide that you can follow from the time you get on the airplane to the time you are ready to explore. The in-depth guide gives you advice on when to rest, where to eat, places to go, and even info on the safety measures of the London police. Not sure what kind of clothing to pack? Read this book and you will know exactly what to expect of the temperatures and weather. You may even run into a favorite celebrity or two...or many! London is so full and bursting with diverse culture and history; the author captures its charms perfectly. You won't be bored or sorry that you got this book!

I was very confused when I downloaded this book. I was expecting something more like a traditional guide book with lists of popular places, organized into a 48 hour trip format. The few preview pages looked like they were still the introduction portion, but that's how to entire book is written.

I honestly don't understand the high reviews, and the writers made out that it was an invaluable guide with tips on restaurants, what to wear, what to see. I expected something like a map, or at least a reference section with major highlights and tips on how to get there. Instead, it reads (with a surprising number of grammatical issues) like an intro to a much better book.

The 48 hour guide section of the book is not well formatted. Unless you're planning to follow it step by step, you're going to need to write up your own itinerary summary. You have to read in depth to discover a) the actual point of interest b) its address and c) why it's worth seeing. Descriptions like "get off the tube and enjoy the lovely area" are not helpful.

I skimmed a bunch of it to see if I was missing something, then returned it as soon as it was evident that this was not going to help me plan my trip. Perhaps this book serves as a useful intro to London for many people. I can find that information online and considering the price is not that different from something like the Lonely Planet guide, I think there are far better options than this.

This London Travel Guide was really helpful and full of vital information that I needed to find the best places, hot spots and restaurants in a very easy and simple format. It is no nonsense and gives detailed and concise information, as gives nice summaries of these locations. Also, I enjoy the history and culture information that it also provides about London. It saved me so much time. Highly recommend.

This book will certainly give you many ideas for places to visit when in London. Keep in mind that with the "48 Hours" theme, this book lists the top attractions. If you are there for a longer period, there is tons more to see.

One complaint though.. I really don't mind spelling and grammatical errors that much. But this book had so many that it was almost a distraction.

He starts with a brief history. Sights in each general area are described. Keeping his word, he gives a sample doable 48 hours of London sightseeing which sounds pretty interesting. I selected this book because my upcoming trip abroad will include approximately 48 hours in London. : )

This is 60 Kindle pages of solid content! I have read guides 5 times larger that do not compare. John Jones hit the ball out of the park on this one. His writing talents shine through on this most excellently formatted Kindle edition. If you are thinking of traveling to London, this book is definitely for you. I thoroughly enjoyed this guide for his attention to detail and pleasing writing style.

Everything about this guide is the way all digital books should be. The professionalism is evident from start to finish and worth every penny. Bravo for such outstanding quality!

I actually travelled to London a couple of times when I was younger. Of course, when you're in your 20s you don't think about keeping travel diaries or documenting what you learn about a place along your journey. This book helped me remember and relearn some of what I forgot and will make my next trip to London even more memorable.

This book was a great help to me in planning my last vacation. Through reading this book I found all the best places to visit in London. This book was very interesting and in reading it beforehand I feel I got so much more out of my trip.
It helped me to find places I would have otherwise missed. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
