Shrunk on first wash
on November 25, 2013
At 6'3", 190 pounds, I bought this shirt with full knowledge that it would run smaller and tighter (which I don't mind) but I liked the look. So based on the company's sizing guidelines, I ordered a US-XL as that appeared to be the correct Korea-US sizing conversion. Well, I guessed right. It was tight and a little short, but it fit well and looked great! Even the material felt good and I thought I had a winner of a shirt and I was ready to buy more.
However, after one washing on cold-cold with hypoallergenic, environmentally friendly detergent and an air dry (how I wash all 100% cotton or delicate garments), it shrunk so much that it was unwearable. The shirt, which had just been long enough, now sat directly at the line of my pants and if I moved my arms normally, it lifted up exposing my stomach. It also shrunk around the waist and chest and clung to me like spandex, a little too tight for my tastes. So unfortunately, despite the sharp looks and initial good sizing, I had to donate the shirt to charity. Too bad, I really liked the look. Perhaps one day this company will make longer, US sized shirts, but until then I'm staying away.
My tips for those interested in this shirt: I think 6'3" is likely the maximum height you can be and still have these fit length wise. If I were an inch or two taller or 20 pounds heavier, I don't think this would have fit even on the first try. If you are shorter, you will likely find good sizing, but beware of the shirt shrinking an inch or more in length and width after the first washing, even with extreme care.
