No double Stitching
on April 1, 2013
Not as advertised. It is a bit heavier duty than some of the belts that are plaguing our shopping departments nowadays but I specifically ordered this one after doing a close up on the photo of it to make sure it had the double stitching - I have a great little brown belt that does and wanted a black one to balance my wardrobe. Without the stitching, it looks like a hunk of rubber that was punched out of a big solid piece with a belt-shaped cookie cutter. I gave it an extra star because it seems thick and may actually last in spite of the cookie cutter appearance and feel. Was very disappointed after I was so careful to double check the photo. I wonder why they put double row stitched on it? People buy these without double stitching. This one just leaves me feeling cheated.
UPDATE: 11/21/2013 - I was just notified by J.S. that the belt photo and the description has been updated to accurately describe the product that I was actually shipped, rather than the one that was listed earlier this year. Based on this, I would not have ordered it but I think that would have been my loss (I just equate no stitching to the cheap-o belts that have a laminate that separates after a week or two).
I've actually been forced to use this Bridle Cut belt because I didn't get the Levi Men's Double Row Stitched Leather Belt, Black 36 that I ordered. And guess what? It has become my go-to black belt. Well made, the buckle wears well, and there's been no separation. I would make my original review a 5 star had this been the belt that I wanted and ordered. I still wish I would have gotten the old double row stitched leather belt that I ordered. That said, until I can find the double row stitched belts again, I'm considering getting another one of THESE in brown. If you don't mind the "bare" look on the edge of your belts, I would recommend this one to you - good value for the price and for work wear. Hope that helps.
