Good but not great; Crappy Dell Support
on July 11, 2013
First off, this is a decent deal. If you're craving for a 27 inch all-in-one under $1000 this is the deal. If you can settle for onboard graphics which is not as high-end as it should be, and can settle for the dual core i5 processor, then I'll say, "go for it". But here's the advantages and drawbacks:
- 27 inch gigantor screen
- 3rd gen core i5
- responsive and fast
- comes with windows 8
- poor gaming performance
- dual core processor
- on board graphics
- non touch
- poor keyboard
And the reason I took one-star off from it was:
I had serious doubt whether this item was brand new or not since one of the manuals was missing in it. I contacted amazon, and their service representative assure me this is a brand new product and I can check it with the manufacturer. It was more than reasonable and I got compensated for the missing manual as well.
If you're looking for a big ass computer with classy look, this is a good option. But, if you're a hardcore gamer, this one should be left alone. The keyboard has really been a disaster, looks like a cheap $10 keyboard and doesnt go with the big screen.
It ran fine without any major issues till August 2014 (13 months) and then the wifi stopped working. Dell customer care experience was a nightmare. Friendly folks from Philippines had no idea what he was doing and at one point I decided to use alternate channel. I find another Dell rep via twitter and he helped me place a warranty claim and replace the wifi. Very hectic process and not very professional when it comes to customer support. My computer was gone for 17 days and came back with a huge scratch on the screen. Reducing to two-star for this experience. Initially I gave it a 3-star.
