This is a great monitor.
The colors are extremely sharp and it's super bright on High Dynamic or Game Mode.
Make sure you toss out the VGA cable that's included (its Blue ) and buy a DVI cable with this monitor.
The difference is major! I bought BlueRigger DVI to DVI Digital Dual-Link Cable also on amazon. Best DVI cable on the market.

The only downside is it does not come with a DVI cable.

You wont regret it, just buy this monitor.

The first thing I noticed with this monitor is the external power transformer. Usually being the first component of a flat-screen to die, this is a nice addition now making it a user-replaceable part.

It also makes the monitor profile flatter and lighter. I did notice that the brightness controls for the monitor were turned up to maximum which are way too high for most applications. It also suffers from a very bad "line-of-sight" problem where the brightness of the image is directly proportional to the angle at which you look at it. Direct on viewing gives you a nice, full color picture. Whereas viewing from even 15 degrees off center makes the image "grey-out".

If you constantly look at your monitor from your chair then this shouldn't be a problem. If you have to view this monitor from the side or off angle then I would pass on this.

Got this on sale for ~$110, which was a steal compared to its normal price.

However, as soon as I turned this monitor on I decided to return it.
The quality of colors and whites is quite good, but the blacks are TERRIBLE. As another review stated, even turning the brightness down to 0% did not put the darks on par with my cheap little asus monitor.

Also, the viewing angle is abysmal. From directly in front of the monitor, the bottom appeared lighter than the top. It only took a couple degrees difference to significantly distort the colors. Many led monitors have viewing angle issues, but this is the worst I have encountered.

Upon screwing in the base, I found the monitor itself to be more wobbly than my previous ones, and not adjustable in the least. It is also not designed to accommodate any mounts, as the back is flush, and the base extends from the bottom of the monitor.

In short: Would not recommend.

In the past two years, I have outfitted 8 desktop computers with these 24" Samsung LED of various model numbers. Four of these work stations have two of monitors, so I've purchased 12 monitors.
No complaints from anyone who works at these stations...except for one person who says they are too big!
Everyone likes the color and resolution.
Our bean counter likes the initial cost.
Our resident tree hugger likes that they are more energy efficient than the monitors they replaced.
Our Geek likes that the power supply is external and can easily be replaced should it fail.
I will purchase more of these!

I purchased this monitor instead of purchasing two cheaper HP monitors. I am so glad I went with this one. The visual is crisp and clear, and even the pieces used to assemble it felt sturdy and well made (especially when compared to the cheap, flimsy feel of the HPs I was considering). Lovely monitor, even with the steep (to me) price tag!

I've been using a couple of Samsung SyncMaster 2333's in a side-by-side for the last 2-3 years. They've been beautiful and easy to live with but recent one started to die so I went to Fry's this morning and let them price match Amazon as I needed to be back up and running by Monday morning. In this side-by-side with my older 2333 the picture on this new S24B150BL is really bad. The color and brightness are VERY directional - both horizontally and vertically - and for whatever reason the colors don't seem very 'rich' which may be basically due to the not-so-good 'blacks' from this monitor. I'm quite disappointed and will be returning it to Frys.

Anyway, the controls on this monitor were easy to figure out so I'm giving it 2 stars, but if my review was based on just the picture I'd give it 1 star or less. Do not buy this if you're going to sit it next to another monitor as you're likely to be extra disappointed.

I purchased the Samsung S23B150BL during the 2013, Christmas holiday at Office Depot for $103. If you are sitting in front of the monitor or at a 25 degree angle you get a very good picture. The stand for the monitor is very poor because it is not adjustable and learns slightly forward that makes the viewing angle too low. I have placed a piece of 1 x 4 lumber under the front of the stand to lift the front of the monitor to provide a better viewing angle. I find the colors are very good but I am not a gamer and I cannot evaluate the monitor for that purpose. But if you want a large screen monitor for the Internet, email, photos and Microsoft Office, it meets all those requirements nicely. But I would not pay more than the price of $103 that I paid 4 months ago. There are too many other options and features in other PC monitors rather than pay the current price of $199.

This is a very nice monitor with great picture for the money. It doesn't have an HDMI input, but it's not being used as a TV monitor so that doesn't matter to me. I have it connected via DVI to my kids PC and its a nice upgrade. It's also quite lightweight and thin. Overall very pleased.

I'm not real hard on screens. I just need them to work for the same reason most people need screens. There's no interest in my life in terms of contrast ratio or any of that. Everything is status quo on this monitor except ONE thing: the buttons.

Please know that there are no ACTUAL buttons on this monitor, which I hate. There are those pressure points on icons...I can't stand that. Sorry.
