Good For Bare Floors and Low Pile
on April 23, 2014
I wanted to give it 4 stars but there are a few things that annoy me. I find I have to empty the cup after every use. And towards the end of vacuuming a 130 sq. ft. room with a bare floor and one small throw rug, the vac loses lots of suction. And this is a bare floor in a medium sized bedroom... imagine how much more it would pick up with full carpet.
It works very well on the small low-pile throw rug I have. It's wool and very dense. It did take it a while to get to a decent level of clean, but that was only because I had only been sweeping it with a broom for a year and lots of dirt had gotten trapped in the fibers. But after vacuuming it 4 times, front and on the reverse side, it has begun to look like new.
The only other thing I don't like is that the beater brush gets wound up with a lot of hair. Maybe the bristles are too long and/or not dense enough to prevent that from becoming a problem. I'm thinking it's the density. So, I find I have another chore after every use... pulling hairs out of the beater. It's kinda gross and annoying.
Other than that, the size is great, the build quality is good and the cord can easily reach the entirety of a 130 sq. ft room with weird corners.
