question about mounting(stud placement) hello, unfortunately my studs aren't quite lined up with where i want to hang my tv mount. my question is.. would putting 2 lag bolts in the middle of the mount to a stud, + 4 50lb anchors on the corners, be enough to hold up 100lbs? or would it be better to mount wood to the studs and then the mount to the wood?

I am a professional installer. You should go out and buy high grade 1/2" lag bolts for the stud mount portion, then on the ends vertically stagger the anchors and you are assured of more than adequate holding power for a 100# monitor/TV. Don't over drill the pre-hole for the lags, you want them good and snug, not so tight that it takes two hands on the ratchet!

I didn't test this before. I can't guarantee if it is safe or not. Please refer professional installer.
