I would rate it 5 stars, for it blows up the image about 10X and then there are two little circles that blow it up even more. I find that it is perfect for needlework, and cross stitch really makes it clear to see. I am not disappointed in the purchase and when I have stitch n bitch friends have ordered it after using it for a session. It has made stitching fun again in my old age.

"The large 5-inch diameter lens has 2x magnification power with a 6x inset for fine details." Just so you know, if you look at the very bottom of the order page, there is a full production description. Amazon is very good about giving production descriptions.

rate of magnification? 5x, I think. But it does fall over, the base is just plastic and very light weight.

Advertised 3x magnification. Actual is 2 x magnification. Hope this helps. It does make print a lot easier to see, says my grandma.
