These lids fit perfectly on wide mouth mason jars.

I also store all my liquids like milk and juices in Mason Jars - the reCAP makes it so easy to pour - I am in love with this product.

If you don't fiddle with the inner gasket and get the lid on JUST SO, this cap leaks from around the threads.

I purchased these for use with the half gallon mason jars (for iced coffee & iced tea).

I brewed my first batches, put the lids on and left the jars on the counter to cool before putting them in the fridge -- but thought I'd try one of the warm beverages. I was VERY disappointed when the rims leaked when pouring--huge mess. Checked the gaskets, made sure they were on tight... the only way I could pour with these was with a towel wrapped around the edge to contain the leaking liquids. I was upset that I spent nearly $30 on these and just put them in the fridge, figuring I'd try to find some new gaskets. At that point, I very much regretted this purchase.

The next day, I tried again. The jars, (tea & lids) were properly chilled at this point. NO LEAKS! And consistently, these lids have performed perfectly since.

I believe that perhaps the glass jars and the plastic lids expand differently when exposed to heat, making the lids a poor fit when hot. But they are perfectly fitted when the jar & lid are both cold. For me, it's "hit-or-miss" with room temperatures, but it's not problematic because I wanted them for chilled drinks. (I imagine that they will work perfectly for dried goods as well.)

Excellent product. Very happy that I've got them and they work perfectly for my intended use. It would have saved me the angst of going a night thinking that I made a bad purchase if I had known that the temperature of the jar/contents/lids mattered. Thought it was worth passing along.

I purchased a package of these reCap mason jar lids about 3 weeks ago and have used them daily to seal raw milk from our goats that I hand milk and store in wide mouth mason jars. My whole family, including small children, are able to pour milk without spilling and making a mess. The lids seal on very tightly as the warm milk cools in the ice bath in the fridge and are basically impossible to remove or break the seal- even by my husband- until the empty jar is run under hot water for a few seconds. You will hear a "pop" as the seal brakes. I have put them through the dishwasher daily with no decrease in seal or function. Overall it is a good product and would recommend the reCap mason jar lids to anyone wanting a good seal and making it easier to pour liquids from large mouth mason jars.

Expensive and faulty. These do not work. I tried 4 times and each time they leaked all over my shirt and desk. If you shake the drink and set it down, the seams of the lids will begin to leak. Don't waste your money. Stick with the old fashioned covers.

I like the concept of this lid, however the part that covers the pour spout does not stay open when pouring. It has to be held back with one hand while pouring with the other. Awkward at best and possibly dangerous trying to pour a full 64 oz glass jar with only one hand. I use my jars for ice tea and they can be slippery from condensation when removing from the refrigerator. The lids are also not as easy to catch the threads to the jar as the metal lids that come with them are. All in all, a great concept but needs to tweaked a bit. Also I think they are extremely over priced.

These are just basic flimsy plastic caps that rest on the top of the lid. They leak like mad when you use them, and they're as far from "solid" as you can get. I expected something much more like a Klean Kanteen lid for the amount of money paid for these, and the reality is, you're getting something that could easily be sold for a buck each in the cheap plastic junk bin of the local dollar store. It's pretty sad, actually, that these are being sold. I tried using one to make a mason jar shaker to mix up salad dressing, but the seal leaked, the top popped right off, and the jar slid out of my hand.

Again, for $27, I expected something solid, heavy, and well-made; these just aren't that at all.

I was hopeful that these would be leak proof, but alas, they aren't. We've had the lids for about 7-10 days now, and regular spills from between the lid and the jar mouth are a part of our experience. In addition, the little cap falls closed as soon as you tip the jar to pour out the liquid. Perhaps if they hadn't been so expensive, I would be more accepting of their flaws. I really wanted to love these, but all I can say is that they're better than a canning lid and ring. Slightly.

I love these... I have wide-mouth and regular mouth. For liquids like raw milk and juice these are fantastic! Rather than fumbling with the regular mason jar lid and rings these are one piece with the flip top lid and there is no dripping. Also great because you can shake them. I don't know what people are complaining about... leaking? flip-top closing? This is my third order, I find more and more uses... I'm moving further away from toxin containing plastic containers and using glass mason jars of all sizes, SO I've used these since they were first available... probably 2 years now. I've never had a problem with leaking, make sure you put the lid on correctly. I did notice when I tried to use a vintage, blue 1/2 gallon mason jar for water that it leaked but that's because it had old school threading on the jar... hardly reCAPs issue! Flip-top closing... hasn't been an issue for me BUT if you seem to have this problem, after you open the top, place your first finger on the open top to hold it open while you hold the container and are pouring with the rest of your hand. REALLY PEOPLE... are you just looking for something to complain about?
