I purchased the iSkin at the same time as my iPod because I had heard about scratching from several sources and wanted to protect my investment. Other than allowing free access to the wheel & display screen, the iSkin has protected my iPod from scratching completely. If you are researching the iSkin because of the cost, the one drawback to the iSkin is the tendency of the material to attract dust and hair. I have 2 cats and a dog & have made the mistake of storing the iPod (in the iSkin of course) in areas that have dust and hair. It is difficult to remove the dust and hair from the iSkin. However, the texture of the material has saved my iPod from falling because it adheres nicely to other surfaces, not allowing it to fall. I think you will find that the iSkin offers good protection for your iPod too.

This product works very well. It provides more than adequate protection for my iPod. The durable iSkin surface prevents iPod from accidentally slipping out of my hand. Ventilation holes on the back are a plus. The surface of the iSkin will occasionally attract dust & hair but it can easily be wiped clean with a slightly damp cloth or paper towel. A clear screen protector is included with iSkin & works well, although I wish it was attached to the iSkin instead of being a separate unit. I have not tried the optional separate wheel cover yet. iSkin allows for easy plug-in to docking & power accessories through the bottom flap. Cover came with the belt clip already attached to the back. I haven't figured out how to remove it yet. The major selling points for purchasing this product were protection for my iPod & the color. There were few companies that offered a purple cover. I would recommend this product highly.

I got my ipod for my birthday and refused to even use it until I got some kind of protective cover or case.
This skin comes with a plastic screen cover and the main body of the skin. On the back there is a disc for a belt clip, but I removed this because I read here and there that it could leave a mark. I never removed the clear plastic cover that the iPod comes with on the touch-wheel, and I suggest you do the same when purcashing your iPod. There are complaints about this skin not providing any protection for the wheel, but since I didn't remove my cover, my iPod is in its silicone case and only the top where the earphones plug-in is exposed. I don't know what I'd do without this skin besides not owning an iPod.
And so what if it collects dust? So does everything else on this planet and if you're too lazy to get a moist rag and wipe your skin down once and a while, I'm glad I don't know you because you're probably too lazy to bathe also.
