Is reading the On The Road Original Scroll bad?

Did Jack Kerouac mean for this to be read? Or am I getting some stupid thing we just published just because?

I do know he crossed out a lot of things that he didn't like in the first place, did they stay faithful to that? I also wonder how the end works out, since a dog ate it.
