This play is sooo lovely and I decided to use it for my final project in directing class this semester... the pace of the story and the line is awesome for catching people's eyes, and the relationship between the characters is just lovely!

Not LaButes best....not even close to "Fat Pig". Too much screaming and yelling to be effective onstage. Sorry...I really wanted to like it.

It’s interesting to me that I enjoyed Neil LaBute’s Reasons to be Pretty because the characters are so unlike my experience of the world. The men refuse to grow up and the women are almost solely preoccupied with their looks. But there is something about the humor in the conversations of these shallow characters that ring true in every relationship.

Got it fast. I needed the play quickly and they followed through well. A good play. Very enjoyable, good monologues.

Sure, this play isn't for everyone, as I realize some people will be offended by all of the cursing. Then again, I think a lot of the word choice is supposed to keep you a tad uneasy. REASONS explores some tough questions, and pulls no punches in its grittiness--all while being quite funny throughout. LaBute is at his best in this one.
