Audio quality using usb digital input is substantially better than analog 3.5mm input, which is routed through the sound card and subject to degradation by internal electronic interference inside the computer.

How do you think the audio quality compares between recording using the usb digital input or the analog 3.5mm input?

Your problem could easily be solved by simply purchasing a USB Hub, which can be found at just about any store that sells computery stuff (Walmart, Target, Best Buy, etc). You could also purchase one off of Amazon. I personally like the Plugable USB 2.0 10-Port High Speed Hub with 12.5W Power Adapter and Two Flip-Up Ports because it has 10 USB ports, giving me 13 USB ports on my iMac for just about any USB situation.
Hope this helped.
