Can anyone confirm if the US unrated directors cut is region free?

The one released in the UK market is region free, but it is the theatrical version and the directors cut hasn't been released.

Cancel this - Just noticed the region coding has been added - A/1 :(

Why are older films like this region locked? I want the directors cut, but can't have it because of region encoding. Yet the theatrical cut in the UK is region free.

It makes no sense and it boils my blood!

1 lost sale!

Oops, I forgot I had made the above post. I did some research after my post and found a few sites saying the blu-ray was region free, so I took the chance and ordered it - Confirm blu-ray is region free :) not sure about the DVD version though.

Brilliant, I've been after the Blu-ray alternate cut, but it was never released in the UK. I'll get an American copy ordered.
