The bat is much like the CF4 (including the drop) except for apparant better technology in the core. My son had been borrowing a CF4 for the entire season and was hitting better than he had been with his 2009 DiMarini Vendetta, which of course is not a full composite bat. We considered purchasing a CF4, but he really liked the look of the CF5. The bat required the usual break in recommended by the manufacturer, but other than that my son loves it and is hitting as well as he was with the CF4.

Good bat, but beware that it weighs heavier than specified - I would say almost 1oz to 1.5oz heavier. Compared it to an aluminium deMarini 30/19 bat, using a scale, and the CF5 was hevier. So the 30/19 CF5 is more like a 30/20 or maybe even a 30/20.5 bat. How can deMarini have two different weights for two bats specified as 30/19 bats? This is misspecification for a bat that is quite expensive and the weight difference is substantial for a 10-12 year old who is likely to be using these bats.
