I tried to get to like this show but. . . this episode marked the end of my journey. The implausibility of there being no electrical current aside, the characters and plots are contrived and groan inducing at almost every turn. Mr. Google left his wife because he couldn't protect her!?! A young girl is somehow tricked into pretending she is a prostitute and somehow manages to talk her way into seeing the head of a neighboring clan, get the upper hand and then at the last second is spared from having to execute her plan? It is so ridiculous and . . . weird that I'm not even close to being entertained. Compared to other far superior post apocalyptic shows, this one is just. . . plain bad. Jericho pulled off something far more compelling with what appears to be a much smaller budget. The Walking Dead is a zillion times more awesome, gritty and edge of your seat thrilling. I'd even say Falling Skies is better and that show used to be my low water mark. . . I just don't get how an assemblage of this much talent and opportunity can be wasted on such poorly executed stories and production values. :-(

That's funny, I just came to this sight to find out where I left off with the series, and it happens to be the episode you are talking about. I felt the exact same way and stopped watching. I guess that was 4 episodes ago. Time flies when you don't force yourself to sit through ridiculous subplots, while waiting for a few seconds of captivating story-line.

The walking dead has nothing to do with this show whatsoever.
Why do you think Pittman's wife got video-time, in the show? Its probably because shes a recurring character/role. Open your mind a little bit.

I agree with you that the developers of this show are wasting away the talent on hand. I wish this show had more of a fallout feel to it not a modern day world without electricity/cival war feel. I will never understand why all of a sudden all the power is gone forever and know one on the planet is intelligent enough to bring it back. I mean come on are all the power plants and electricians gone too? This show is so dumb and improbable from episode 1 to the end of season 1.
