Nice addition to the preserving library,

I got this book last year and have made several of the recipes--Curried Pickled Cauliflower, Classic Strawberry Jam, Quick Raspberry Jam, etc. I've been pleased and I like the layout of the book--by main ingredietn (i.e. berries, peaches, etc.) Although I am primarily interested in canning, it's nice to have instructions for other preservation methods. She writes in an affable, friendly, but knowledgeable style. Her background instructions (e.g. on pickling in general) are very helpful and easy to understand. I think a beginner would find it easy to start preserving with this book. Props to Ms. Brooks Vinton for her association with Slow Food!
